coat suggestions

HI, anyone have any suggestions? I have a job in which, when I am actually there in person, I sometimes have to be very smartly dressed (as in court attire). Since the start of the pandemic I have worked from home almost exclusively so live in smart tops for Zoom and sweatpants and slippers! I have unfortunately put on the "Covid stone" (hope to lose it of course!) and haven't fully updated my work wardrobe as I haven't needed to.

My old smart "town" coats don't do up any more and I have just got myself a cheapish parka-type coat for now as I never go anywhere where it would matter (live in rural Ireland).

I have to be in court in person in a few weeks, for the first time since the pandemic started. I will be OK for clothes, but I don't want to arrive in court in London wearing my "backwoods" Regatta parka! Anyone got any suggestions for a nice smart coat that would be flattering for a short size 16 with very big boobs? Budget not too much of an issue (well, not thousands obviously).

I can't recommend any but I think a nice wrap coat would look smart and flatter your shape.

If you have the money buy a MaxMara coat. Not the one with the belt (they only look good on skinny people). The double breasted coat is timeless, and very forgiving. It will still be ok when you lose the weight. Buy camel ( dark or light depending on your complexion). Do not buy black, it is unflattering as you age.
If you do not have the money, try one and then buy a replica..there are plenty around.

Have a look in charity shops. They have been a great source for my winter 'smart' coats.

Thank you! Looking into these now...

I’ve always liked those coats that Laura Keunsburg etc wear on the news reports. I think they have them in Ted Baker but they are very expensive. I’d love a bright blue or pink one!

Try Joe Browns. I've just ordered a red checked smart coat from there.

H&M have got a good range of coats that don’t cost the earth. I bought a nice long wool coat for about £150.
