Hair products for soft waves?

I've realised that my hair when left to it's own devices is actually relatively nice and has a bit more life to it than when it's straightened flat.

I've got somewhat soft waves and when I'm on holiday in the salt water etc it dries quite nicely, but at home it's a mixed bag and sometimes is a bit more frizzy and dishevelled.

Does anyone know/use any good products that help the hair to have lovely soft/loose waves without going crispy or weighing it down so it more or less goes straight?

I'm not a fan of the mousse scrunch type look at all! But some other products seem to take the curl out completely.

Happy if its cheap or expensive if it does the job...

Thanks!

Well, probably not what you want to hear but curly girl methods really make a difference. My hair is thick, frizzy if left to its own devices it waved a bit but the frizz made it look dry and awful. After watching a you tube video by a woman with amazing curly hair who said there are lots ofcurliesout there that just dont know it i tied a couple of things. Firstly i washed as normal with shampoo, applied a moisrurising conditioner combed it through to detangle and kind ofscrunched it into my hair then rinsed in cold water by gathering handfuls of water and kindof scrunching my hair until it felt clean. Instead of using a towel i patted it with an old teeshirt, applied a curl cream then some gel then Plopped it into another teeshirt with all my hair on top of my head and the teeshirt tied on like a hat. Left it alone for a couple of hourswhile i did some chores then unfolded it, moved into place with my fingers then dried it using a diffuser just by gathering handfuls and scrunching into the diffuser. When almost dry i just left it alone and am sat here with lovely frizz free wavy almost curls 😲

You will probably find that treated well your hair has a lot more texture than a soft wave. If you can’t be bothered with the whole curly girl thing (and my hair won’t cope with it anyway) then choosing a shampoo free from sulfates and silicones will be a good start. I like the curl jelly range by umberto giannini which is available in boots, and I do use the mousse sometimes or the serum.
