Ankle strap extender

I’ve just bought a lovely pair of sandals with ankle straps. Unfortunately, I had an accident a few years ago, and now have one normal leg and one cankle, which swells up as the day goes on.

I love the sandals, but fear I won’t be able to do them up by nighttime. If I could get a little extender to attach to the buckle, that would be perfect. Maybe 1 inch long?

Does this exist? Here’s the sandals:

Could you put an extra hole on the strap?

Etsy have some with elastic in - you'd need to find the best match, take the whole strap out and replace it, though.

No, unfortunately I need a good inch of extra strap. A little strip of leather with holes at one end and a small buckle at other would work perfectly (if it existed).

thank you for this, but I want to keep the existing ankle strap, but just get a little extender. I’m thinking I could butcher an old pair of shoes to get the part I’m imagining.

Yes - cut it down to the right length and make new holes should work, or you could buy a replacement strap and do this if you don't want to destroy another pair of shoes. Try eBay or Etsy.

Speak to a cobbler

KnickerlessParsons · 12/11/2022 10:10

Yes, a cobbler would be able to make you something.

I would get a cobbler to attach the buckle to elastic so that it is flexible throughout the day.

I used a hair bobble once for this exact thing. it worked really well surprisingly
