Another warm coat one!

I am going round in circles so hoping someone can help. I am after a really warm coat for standing outside watching football but want something I can also wear to walk to the shops and out and about generally. I'm always cold so there won't be much chance of me overheating. I am about 5'5" and slim and, having looked at LOADS online, think I am after a long slim/fitted puffer coat with a hood. I ordered the Didriksons Stella to try on but just can't get on with the neck/hood - whilst it would be amazing for standing out in the cold on Saturday mornings, I think it would look a bit OTT for anything else. I also ordered a North Face Arctic parka which is OK but I really would like something that goes below the knee. I don't however want one of those ankle grazing ones!

Does such a coat exist? Superdry seem to do a lot of long puffers and I like the look of the this one but I don't think it's waterproof (although that's not an absolute requirement for me) and I'm not sure how warm it would be. I've ordered a Didriksons Erika to try but am worried it will be too short. Ideally I'd like the Didriksons Stella (long, warm and waterproof) but with a normal neck and hood.

I ordered a 300 euro waterproof coat from roxy last year. It is so warm, much warmer than my north face brooklyn Park. I dont like the colour though. I am half thinking of getting another in blue.

Google roxy ellie warmlink
It is definitely a warm coat. I used to get two buses home and I was hanging around at bus stops so I know it's warm.

Anjelika · 10/11/2022 20:08

@xPeaceX that looks nice but I really want something longer - preferably calf length.

Landsend do a 'duvet' coat. I'm 5'9 and it comes just below my knee, but it's down so if you are a vegan it might not be any good. I got mine two years ago in the sales, it's very warm, not bad waterproofing (I'd guess about 8,000 hydrostatic head). Sensible hood hot so huge you lose your head, but big enough to wear a beanie and scarf for extra hearting. And very functional patch pockets for phone/ wallet. side fleece lined pockets for warmth. I love mine, although the sleeves are slightly on the short side, think my arms are longer than average though as I have this problem with quite a bit of clothing😬 not been cold enough to wear this autumn, but it is like wearing a sleeping bag!

I have this In black ( I paid half price in the summer from Next)
Very warm but also suitable for daywear. Clearly new colours out this year so I'd search for last season

Aria999 · 10/11/2022 21:06

Try Athleta

Anjelika · 10/11/2022 21:09

Some great suggestions. Thanks. Love that North Face one but it's a bit £££ for me. Lucky you getting it half price!

@nomoreflyingducks do you have a link to the Lands End duvet coat? I can't find one with that name.

I also got this FatFace coat last year, it's down to my lower calves (average height). It's already been in use this year and still love it.

Zeebeededodah · 10/11/2022 21:35

I've got the Erika. I don't think it's going to be long enough but I can confirm it's lovely and warm and great for standing around watching football!

I have this and it's brilliant: www.asos.com/prd/24275336?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

nomoreflyingducks · 10/11/2022 23:44

Just looked on their website and they don't have the exact same one, the nearest is the 'womens hooded Maxi down coat' not sure how waterproof it will be though, water resistant is only slightly better than shower proof.
