Is there any remedy for long hair that knots very easily? Short of cutting it of course.

What about a keratin treatment?

AlexandraJJ · 10/11/2022 19:15

What condition is your hair in? Is it brittle?

Frezia · 10/11/2022 19:17

The ends are dry but I think most of the hair length is reasonably healthy.

Where is it knotting? In the lengths or underneath near the neck?

Itisbetter · 10/11/2022 19:22

Oil it once a week
if it’s dark henna as a conditioner not left on to dye
silk pillowslips or scarf
cut the ends

Frezia · 10/11/2022 19:25

Mostly underneath back of the neck. Hair closer to the face seems ok.

I find this happens because of clothing and coats in the winter. I have to keep my hair off my neck if I wear my woolen coat, a scarf or jumpers with higher necks.
The material seems to rub the hair into knots in that area.

I'll interested to hear tips

If it’s snarling on woolly collars embrace silk scarves.

Leave-in conditioner spray is great. Any brand should be fine.

DoctorAcula · 10/11/2022 19:54

Silk pillowcase, shampoo and conditioner for extra dry hair, hair oil and boar brush.

Oh Crikey, tell me about it. Dealing with mine after a wash is a flipping nightmare. My annual keratin treatment at the hairdressers helps a bit. I put drops of oil into it after washing but it’s still very knotty even with stacks of conditioner.
