It looks quite good, what do people think?

I think it’s sold out on line now

cinnabongene · 10/11/2022 14:42

I’m not bothering this year (I’ve had one for the last 4 years). There are far too many hair and hand cream type products that I won’t use. I’ve also noticed that hardly anything is full size. Not worth it this year.

GRRR!

I've been waiting, a week, for my adult son to tell me what size trousers he needs (for his birthday next week) - had already put the calendar into my basket.
He has just messaged me with his size but the calendars are now sold out!!!!

woodhill · 10/11/2022 18:38

I'm giving it a miss

I've got loads of stuff to use up

Inasec24 · 10/11/2022 18:41

I've ordered mine and looking forward to it! I've never had an advent calendar before except a standard chocolate one.

Lollypop701 · 10/11/2022 18:44

I’ve ordered one, really looking forward to it!

CoffeeWithHer · 10/11/2022 18:46

I’ve got mine early this time around as I missed last year and actually gutted! I save them up and have them for my holidays in the summer unless it’s that Emma whatshername brand and that’s slapped on that day 😁

rookiemere · 10/11/2022 18:47

I'm skipping this year. Seems like a few duplicate from previous years, plus I'm on holiday 19-22nd Dec so I don't need more treats that month.

Tomorrowisanewday · 11/11/2022 12:49

I bought one this year, and was really pleased with it (I may have already opened all the boxes). There are a number of full size products that I like but probably wouldn't be able to justify the expense, like the Clinique moisturiser and mascara. And one of the nail polishes is similar to colours I wear regularly.

I bought one 4 or 5 years ago, and ended up buying full size of some of the products after using them. I have very sensitive skin (because of eczema), and it's great to try small samples of products to test them first.

I'd have guessed and let him mess about exchanging them in this situation 😂

DoctorMarten · 11/11/2022 14:50

I've got one this year because I didn't wanna spend over 200 quid on one.

Onthecuspofabreakthrough · 11/11/2022 14:54

I would rather have a make up one this year, I don't find all the creams particularly useful

EspeciallyD · 11/11/2022 14:54

I’ve got one out for delivery. I didn’t bother last year and was a bit unsure, but I usually use or give away pretty well all of it, I noticed the perfume was a repeat from a previous year that I’d hated though.

LearnerCook · 11/11/2022 14:57

It's better than I was expecting. I opened it right away this year. Only one duplicate product from last year that I can remember, but it is something I use a lot so I don't mind.

One of the products alone is earth £44, apparently, so the rest is 'free.'

Novemberhater · 11/11/2022 15:01

I bought one today for DD. I really hope it's good this year.

Yirk · 11/11/2022 15:05

Got mine , its much better than last years imo.

Inasec24 · 17/11/2022 16:56

Anyone fancy a M&S advent calendar thread when we start opening them?

Chloefairydust · 17/11/2022 17:17

There is no skincare products that are full sized in this year’s calendar. I bought it and was disappointed at the sizes of the products. If you can afford to I would recommend buying one of the more expensive beauty calendars available. While the M&S one seems a really good price at £40 your basically paying for a lot of sample sized products… I actually own a full sized moisturiser of the same brand supplied in the calendar. Here they are next to each other to give u an idea of how small all the products are in the M&S calendar this year.

Do you not wait until December 1st to open?

I didn’t wait with the M&S calendar no, I actually wasn’t going to buy a beauty calendar this year, I bought an earrings one instead, just for something a bit different. The earrings calendar I’m waiting till December and will be opening one box at a time so that’s my ‘official advent calendar’ lol . I was buying some Christmas presents from M&S and on a whim decided to get the calendar too. However not sure I would have bothered if I had realised how small all the skincare products were in the calendar.
