To the mothers of little boys! Help please.
I need to get two outfits for a little boy, 2 special occasions coming up.
He’s tall, nine years old, loves the style and I want him to look like he’s been dressed especially but in an up to date style.
I’ve been looking at Next, Mango and some boutique brands, One Varones. 1880 but not seeing anything yet.
I don’t want the classic suit - the 5/3 piece all selected for you but do like a cool suit with a nicer shirt/tie.
I have a black velvet jacket for one occasion which is over Christmas but any ideas what to put with it, can’t see any velvet trousers but I like the separates - I just can’t pull a look together let alone two!
Please post links/pictures.

Dressing my girls for these occasions is so much easier I find and I want him to look special too.

I found when my son was that age that a nice shirt and jacket with jeans would do the trick. He only needed an actual suit for super formal occasions like weddings which were few and far between. Recently for a funeral we got a great suit second hand from the local Oxfam (he’s a teenager now but hasn’t finished growing so I didn’t want to get one that would only be worn once).
If he gets to choose the shirt - so many options - that can work well, and a sort of plain classic jacket will go with anything.
Good luck!

I got my little boy a fab cord blazer from John Lewis. This was last year but worth a look online.

When mine was a similar age we got navy skinny fit chinos from h&m to go with a gorgeous navy velvet blazer weirdly found on amazon. He was very thin, the skinny fit chinos were required just to look normal. He wore it with a fancy changeable sequins long sleeved t-shirt from zara because he's a fan of colours and sparkles. A shirt looked and felt too "school" for him.

Thanks very much for replies. I appreciate them.

Has anyone seen any pictures/styling for little boys suits - for these occasions a suit probably will be best or thoughts on how to formally style or what to put with a black velvet jacket?

Jeans? I think otherwise you've too much going on. And it'd be too old looking.
