Beauty Calender - refills needed

Suckitupboyo · 09/11/2022 09:35

Lasy year me and my 16y daughter shared the John Lewis beauty advent calender, taking it in turns to open the doors. Really enjoyed it loads of fun.

This year we can't stretch to similar but was thinking I could reuse the calender, fill half with sweets and the other half with beauty products. But, I'm really struggling to find travel size/refills that aren't horribly expensive. Is there a secret place where folk sell off there rejects/duplicates from previous years ?

Not fussy about what they actually are, would be after about 12. Can anyone make any suggestions ?

Thank you

charity shops often have themn still in sealed packs.

Another idea - go to Boots, Primark, Superdrug and Wilko, and look for treats in No17, own-brand ranges, and Essence.
I got a charity shop haul of treats the other day - BB cream, hair primer, eye-liner, lipsticks, a travel-pack gift set all for 30p or 50p each.

Ebay! Loads of samples on there!

Apologies if this is more than you can stretch to, but someone has just posted on another thread that the Holland & Barrett calendar is now £40 with code ADVENT. You might not be far off that buying 12 minis, and the H&B contents would probably be much better.

The H&B ones are great. Thanks Kimmy

@KimmySchmitt that's actually a really good idea, thank you. There are some fab items in it. I've ordered it 😁

I did look at eBay/charity shops. Ebay could only find individual brands or hotel swipes etc and tbh I don't really trust the platform. Charity shops no joy.

Thank you for the suggestions, super happy to have it sorted

I've ordered the H&B one too. Looks good.

@Suckitupboyo , they won't be on the websites, you'll need to rummage in the shop for them. The ones I got were brands like Molton Brown, bumble&bumble, Percy Reid, Body Shop, white company, mavala, l'oreal.
Some are the annoying tiddly 5ml types, but some full size.

The H&B stuff is usually good. Many are full size and there are some I use anyway (rose otto eye serum is lovely, ethique bars, faith in nature, Q&A...)

From what I remember, some of the organic ones need to be used up fairly quickly
