Anyone know of a good spf day cream that isn’t too greasy and won’t irritate sensitive skin?

So I have been using neal yard remedies moisturisers, however I’m thinking I need to use something with an spf of 30 or higher for the day. I have sensitive skin (any harsh chemicals will make my face red) and my skin is also prone to breakouts if a product blocks pores and is too oily.

Ideally I would like a cream with lots of natural ingredients. Any recommendations?

I use the Vichy Dry Touch one. SPF 50. No greasiness & lovely under makeup.

I use Base - love all their products but the SPF in particular is lovely

You really should be using two products so a moisturiser and then sun protection.

AnuSTart · 09/11/2022 07:05

I use Featherlight spf 50 by Beauty Pie and it's great.
You should always wear moisturiser under sunscreen.

Nivea Shine Control SPF50 is really good and I can’t see why you’d wear a moisturiser too. It seems to do both jobs as long it’s just basic products you’re after.

Cerave

All I’d say is make sure you pick something affordable as you need a lot of it to give adequate protection so it’s a regular repurchase for me. I use the Eucerin blemish control and try to buy when on offer for £12 or so.

I'm not sure on the ingredients of this one or sensative skin but I use this because it is super light weight and does not clog up my pores.

I'm using actual spf as a moisturiser now, blue Nivea factor 30, it's the best moisturiser I've had. Started because of using retinol and my skin is always great on holiday when I slap it on several times a day. Make up glides on over.

Altruist face fluid very cheap.

Non fragranced.

Just to say "natural" doesn't always mean non irritating. Essential oils are often in "natural products" and can be very aggregating

Thanks guys, I will have a look at all these products comparing ingredients to see which is less likely to give me a red face lol … And I think I would rather just use one product rather than use a sunscreen and moisturiser, I don’t want to overload my skin with products. Although if they were both lightweight it might be ok🤔

The higher SPF products are definitely of interest as I have turned 30 this year so I’m thinking it’s time I started using a retinol serum on my skin 🙂

Second cerave - It's SPF 50 and not too expensive. It's lightweight and doesn't make my skin red. I use Tretinoin.

ImAvingOops · 09/11/2022 18:17

I'm also using cerave moisturiser spf50. I developed rosacea recently and this one doesn't irritate my skin and doesn't feel gloopy like some sunscreen.

CorneliaStreet · 09/11/2022 18:24

I use Ultrasun Face 30spf, it’s not greasy and sinks in straightaway.

primeoflife · 09/11/2022 19:05

It doesn't make sense to use one product as they do different things. You want a moisturiser to moisturise and your spf to sit on top and stop the damage. This is why you need two products 🤷🏼‍♀️. You also don't put enough spf on with a moisturiser so it's not worth it.

Cerave also works really well for me.

I have the Lacura Rejuvelate Day Cream which has spf30 but I religiously use Clinique City Block with Spf50 on top.

RosettaStormer · 09/11/2022 21:24

Nivea is very good

Petitebird · 02/12/2022 08:59

I follow Dr Dray on YouTube. You don't have to use a moisturizer under sunscreen but you should be using an SPF of at least 30 but she recommends higher if you can find a formulation that you will apply religiously and often through the day. She fairly shines with the amount of sunscreen she layers on. Many sunscreens are very moisturising. The real issue is putting enough on and doing it everyday.
