Double wear EL

I went to a department store as I wanted to get a sample of foundation. The lady at the EL counter used a machine to colour match me, basically a screen with lighting all around it where you take a selfie and then it matches you. It clearly wasn’t accurate and she told me it rarely is because of the lighting so she give me what she thought was a good match.

I have 2 problems. Firstly I think it’s the wrong tone, it’s too peachy. Although I don’t think the shade is wrong as such, it’s light enough. I think I the colour was shell.

secondly, although the coverage is good, it’s really sitting in and highlighting my pores. I’ve used it with a smash box primer because I thought that was what you were supposed to do but it seemed to make it worse.

Sorry not sure what the actual question is here but you can just get another sample. And regards the pores, you haven’t said anything about how you applied it. I use a damp beauty blender with no issues.

Try a different colour?
Are you applying it in thin layers?

Love double wear but it can be tricky!! Ivory nude is slightly less peachy than shell which I am matched to! I find Clarins flash balm a really good primer under it too

Take it back, they'll swap it for you.
Make sure all skincare is fully absorbed, then build in very light layers with damp beauty blender.
Try different primers, some suit it better than others

Sorry the question was supposed to be how to apply it. I’ve never been able to get on with a beauty blender. I just use so much product with them and find it hard to not just put it all in one place.
maybe it’s just not the right foundation for me, I can even see it sitting on the tiny fine hairs on my face.

DW can be very thick. It's hard to get the hang of it. I'd try a more natural foundation if I were you.

Double wear is all about what is beneath it.
Good skincare and then apply DW sparingly. I prefer a foundation brush and tend to stipple it.
