France surprise trip - duty free and what do I need to buy

DH surprised me with an overnight trip to France on Wed for my birthday! What do I need to buy and is duty free worth it? Will be going to Cite Europe on way home and I know there is a good Sephora shop - hope it’s still there…

Any suggestions?

Duty free is no longer cheap !

KillingMeDeftly · 07/11/2022 20:07

I wouldn't bother with duty free but French parapharmacies are great!

Enjoy your trip. Take enough money/Euros to buy treat if you see a good price. They will accept card payment anyway.

Thanks for your comments.

I thought as much about Duty Free.

Agree French Pharmacies are the best in the world!

@caringcarer thanks I will. Am partial to leather Longchamp bags….

Sephora was still there in August - although they are now online in the UK. I'd stock up on Le Petit Marseillais shower gels and hand wash in Carrefour. And buy wine Smile

@stringbean ooh that’s good, I do like a mooch around in the actual shop, DH won’t want to come in so some free time for me😂 Used to have a big store near me years ago till they shut down. I loved their branded body wash.

I love those shower gels and still using them from our last trip when we stocked up. Will check out the hand wash as well. DH will def be stocking up on wine!

I’d buy Nuxe - the Christmas gift sets are on sale now, and a relative bargain. I also love Le Petit Marseillais range; the Cuisinier kitchen hand soap is lovely for cooks who wash hands frequently and keeps them really soft.

Also, the mineral water sprays. Lifesaver when hot flushes strike.

Roger & Gallet products as they've stopped selling them in the UK
