Are Ugg Boots back?

Coffeepot72 · 06/11/2022 18:19

Obviously Ugg shops are still selling them - I’ve been into 2 Ugg shops over the weekend and lots of people were buying them! Or did they never go out of fashion and I just failed to notice?

Be careful if you have wide feet or a high instep, they are almost impossible to get on! I had a pair in 2017 and it was a mission to get them on and off. In the end my black Labrador who was a puppy put me out of my misery and chewed them to bits while I was out.
I have a pair of fatface dupe Uggs - great for winter camping or for after a winter sea swim. Easy to slip on and off and very warm.

I think loads of people are buying them as slippers to keep warm with the heating on less. I certainly have.

That was they were originally used for in Australia wasn't it? Then us crazy Brits started wearing them as outdoor shoes.

StillMedusa · 07/11/2022 14:27

I've just bought another pair as I'm actually in Australia on holiday and they are much cheaper here... I don't care if they are 'in' or not... they keep my feet warm Grin

spaceshiptrain · 07/11/2022 14:54

Not seen them of late but I'd still wear them, I like them.

DutchessOfMuck · 07/11/2022 15:02

I was thinking about buying Uggs as I've seen them all over TT. I've never had them before, are they ok to wear out in snow/heavy rain? Or would they get ruined?

bippityboppity87 · 07/11/2022 16:07

I have my eye on these, but not sure on the grip for icy school run days or go back to DM's. Anyone own a pair?

No idea! I’m wedded to mine but I don’t wear them out of the house. They’re the most comfortable, cosy thing every invented and I will not be giving them up no matter how out of fashion they are!

itsnotdeep · 07/11/2022 16:16

I'm coveting a pair of the ultra minis in grey. I'm a fairly late adopter so they must be back for me to want them! (I want them for slippers in the house).

Blythwind · 08/11/2022 15:01

Are the Bailey Button boots now a fashion disaster? Or still ok to wear?

They don't fare well outside unless it's dry. Not really waterproof and just get waterlogged.

justwantobeamum · 08/11/2022 15:43

The “old” style ugg boots from like 2011 are out, but ultra minis and platform minis and the Tasman slippers which people are wearing as shoes are in. Any of the ones that are on trend are not in stock anywhere

Bluedoritos · 08/11/2022 15:47

They definitely did go out of fashion but they're back in fashion now. Influencers all over tiktok and Instagram are wearing them but they wear the really tiny ones or the ones that look like slippers with the colourful lining round them (sorry I can't be bothered to look up what the names of them are!)

DutchessOfMuck · 08/11/2022 15:50

Thanks @illiterato might just leave them then as I already have 5 pairs of slippers.

They would indeed get ruined, mine did.

DutchessOfMuck · 08/11/2022 17:01

Nightmare @DorritLittle

Will keep looking

DorritLittle · 09/11/2022 21:55

@DutchessOfMuck get some anyway though as they are so cosy for putting the bins out! And you can wear them out on a frosty day for example. Personally I couldn't walk miles in them though as they are quite flat. This is the suede ones, they do others.

interstatelovesong · 09/11/2022 22:20

I just bought some ugg minis for Dd13

Her and her mates are going absolutely mad for them.

abbey44 · 09/11/2022 22:27

I always used to say that Uggs would never darken my doorstep….until I was given a pair and became an instant convert. I don’t care whether they’re in or out - I’m wearing mine in the winter come hell or high water.

magma32 · 09/11/2022 22:34

Love my black short uggs, I’m a very cold person who gets cold feet but these are the first pair of winter boots that actually keep my feet toasty. Have no idea if they’re in but I think mine look quite stylish with what I wear. You’d have to pay me to wear something else in cold season.

magma32 · 09/11/2022 22:36

I’ve had mine a few years and are still looking good despite being in snow and heavy rain. Maybe the black colour helps.

Softpebbles · 10/11/2022 07:21

It’s worth checking everyday. I’ve just managed to order size 6 minis in Chestnut from Ugg. Hopefully here tomorrow!

Afterfire · 10/11/2022 08:17

The lowest type ones are “in” again - ultra mini or whatever they’re called. The others, not so much.
