What would you say her style is?
It's very oversized and looks expensive and far too sophisticated and grown up for me ( I'm 43 btw)
I especially like her large black glasses.
I think Naomi Watts looks great.

I didn’t love the monochrome beige but her clothes did look beautiful. I would call that ‘wealthy, understated New Yorker’.

Chrispackhamspoodle · 06/11/2022 18:29

Literally watching it now and thinking how great her style and acting is in it.Storyline is starting to do my head in though. She wears a lot of white and cream- very expensive and minimal.

mileaminute · 06/11/2022 18:59

I eat way too much spaghetti pomodoro to get away with that colour palette but yes I agree, she looks fab!

CatsEatDogs · 06/11/2022 19:54

Whilst I quite like a monochrome palette I did think the all white outfit including hat, looked really contrived and not naturally stylish at all. Even more so when her husband had an all cream and pale beige outfit too. Agree that she looks great though

samthebordercollie · 06/11/2022 19:58

Loved her clothes (and Theodora's too). Would like to dress like that but just too much mud and animals jumping up all the time here (goats, dogs etc) so not practical! But beautiful to watch

Littleguggi · 06/11/2022 21:39

It's very tonal and looks expensive. Especially love her pleated maxi skirts and lightweight oversize knits. I'd look like a sack of potatoes but she looks amazing!

Tangoes · 07/11/2022 12:28

I don't like the style at all.The colours don't match her job as a potter. The very short tennis dresses and cricket sweater at the country club just scream cliche to me.
I loved Sarah Jessica Parkers wardrobe in Divorce.

Morestrangethings · 08/11/2022 03:22

I thought the way they dressed her character was hysterical. Very much style over substance. Unachievable for most people in real life, as living any normal kind of life would mean smudges on your nice white clothes, regularly. I think it was a look that was meant to alienate the audience. About the only time she ventured into grey tones (that hubby usually wore) he was in the same scene in white and beige. You weren’t supposed to like them and the clothing style helped achieving that , imo.

I agree Tangoes, the whole ‘potter’ thing - who does pottery all dressed in white? . And did we ever see her actually potter? Maybe once, not sure. I just remember the pottery deliberately spaced on her potting room shelves. (Also I liked sj Parker’s wardrobe in Divorce)

Naomi was was very good in the watcher. All the actors were, but I felt like something didn’t quite work in the series.

She’s such a good actress. I just saw her in ‘penguin bloom’ and she was very very good.

I agree. For me it was a very boring wardrobe. Trying to look expensive but just looked dull.

What I liked about her was not seeing a ton of plastic surgery. She looked natural and beautiful. Lines and all.

I'm used to spotting plastic surgery as worked as a nurse in plastic surgery for a while.

blebbleb · 08/11/2022 04:33

I thought she looked amazing. Not easy for the average person to pull off though, you have to be very slim. I agree with previous poster, she's beautiful and it's nice to see a celebrity not overdone with Botox.

Same. I didn't notice her wardrobe, tbh, but I did notice that. She looked great.

MistyRock · 08/11/2022 05:27

Agreed, her face appears to be very natural and very beautiful because of it.

Yes, not at all 'understated'. It was meant to portray rich city people living where they don't fit in at all.

NW looks amazing all the time anyway.

I refer to it as the Expensive Blonde look. See also Sienna Miller’s wardrobe in Anatomy of a Scandal
