Really struggling with holiday clothes.

I have a family trip to a tropical country this month. It's summer there when I go. Unbelievably hot. (Have to go for family business that needs to be dealt with)

I absolutely despise hot weather and wearing next to no clothing. I just hate my body being exposed and I always have for some reason.

I won't wear anything short sleeved or shorts. I'm also extremely self conscious of my lower stomach which makes me look out of proportion. So cropped things or anything that clings to me makes me feel awful. The same as tucking in tops.

Everyone will probably be wearing bikinis while walking around and I know I'm going to look stupid trying to cover up constantly in blouses or whatever. Im so lost at what to wear. I'm terrible with fashion as it is.

Any ideas on how to cover up and stay relatively cool?

I try to wear natural fibers in hot weather- cotton, linen or real silk.

I too never wear shorts or sleeveless tops. 3/4 capri or loose style trousers or even full length. 3/4 length, loose blouses.

I actually can't think of any place in the world other than on the actual beach- that people would be walking around in just bikinis? Equally- who cares if they are doing that?

Loose, light clothing is far better in a hot country as it provides shade from the sun and natural fibers let the air flow through. I recall seeing a programme where the temp was recorded on people who were bare skinned vs clothed in loose things, and the clothed people felt much cooler than bare skinned.

A loose, flowy dress might work, or a closer fitting top/silk chemise with an open blouse over the top and trousers/skirt underneath.

Wear loose clothes in linen or other natural fibre fabrics. Seersucker is good.

Long cotton dresses or linen.

I have thick legs and a bulging lower abdomen.

I'd found this year that it was so hot in the uk and in holiday in the med (38-42c) I had to have sleeveless but a kimono or open sleeve but not sleeveless could work in a thin loose cotton dress and I'd get a few Colours.

Try Uniqlo for cotton dresses and cos.

I also am an culottes fan but I do tuck in a top as I find the volume at the top for the culottes hide the tummy pouch. New look wide leg cropped are the culottes I wore. Along with some linen one from Nicole fahri at tk maxx.

Next did a nice boat neck swing style linen dress which was very cool and below the knee.
