Flannels Returns

Does anyone know if you have to cover the cost of returning an online order to Flannels or if they cover it? Their policy isn’t very clear on the website and I’m a bit reluctant to place an order if it doesn’t fit and I then need to pay to return.

I can't find the info either, all online info is talking about in store purchases. But the Trust Pilot reviews are not too great. I did buy a Ralph Lauren blazer from them which was great so I didn't need to return. uk.trustpilot.com/review/flannels.com

Yes. It is a Mike Ashley company - sports direct, house of Fraser etc
I received a high value item that has animal excrement in the packaging. It cost be £9 special delivery to return

I now blacklist them ,

Andrelax3 · 05/11/2022 15:41

I never knew it was one of his companies! Think I’ll swerve them then! Annoying because they have 20% off but would much rather get good service (and no animal excrement).

You do have to pay to return. They also don’t automatically refund the (extortionate) original delivery cost, which is the law. Once I got them to do that, the items did only cost about £3 to try. Won’t be using again though unless I’m desperate.

Funny you should post this. I returned three pairs of jeans to Flannels this week. I had originally ordered five and kept two.

They returned a pair to me saying they showed signs of having been worn! They were tried on in my bedroom. Not sure what to do now. I had no idea they were from the Sports Direct stable of appalling customer service.

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 05/11/2022 19:13

Just to let you know that if you buy something from them and you change your mind they don’t give a refund back only issue the credit note.

ScreamingMeMe · 05/11/2022 19:15

I thought this was going to be about checked shirts being back in fashion 😔

Andrelax3 · 05/11/2022 19:24

Thanks everyone. I’m definitely avoiding.

@Mumof3girlsandaboy I thought that might be the case but it wasn’t entirely obvious. But it did state that for in store returns. I’m so glad I checked the returns policy now. Almost didn’t with it being such a big store.

Sorry to disappoint 😂@ScreamingMeMe

That’s rubbish! I hope you get sorted @GoingOnce

Good luck with that Op, it's one of Ashley's stores!

Iamthewombat · 06/11/2022 23:51

Yes, they make you pay to return stuff. Even if you order it to be delivered to one of their stores! You can’t try it on in store and then return it at the counter. Oh no. You have to pay £6.95 or whatever to return it. On top of the delivery cost.

I’ve found Flannels customer service to be pretty grim. If you can get anyone to answer the phone at their warehouse, if an online order hasn’t arrived, say, you get a bored teenager who doesn’t want to help.

I do buy from Flannels, but only as a last resort if I can’t get what I want anywhere else. I don’t trust them. They have ‘Mike Ashley dodgy market stall we’ll swizz you if we can’ in their DNA. I was amused to see that they are going into the clothing rental business. There is not a chance that I would hire from them. You just know that even if you returned the garment pristine, they’d say that you ripped it or left a mark on it and that you owe them £300.

Shitfather · 07/11/2022 17:17

Ahhh such a shame this has happened to Flannels. I used to shop in their Manchester stores as a teen and early 20s. I recently bought some absolute bargains from the outlet section. Not sure how they price some of the stuff so low that is selling full price elsewhere. Anyway, I was pissed with the delivery charge, but as I saved so much I let it pass. Thank goodness I don’t have to return. Given the reviews here, I won’t but again.

SleepingisanArt · 07/11/2022 17:39

We went to the local store (dark, loud awful music and far too hot) to be told everything we were looking for was only available online. Ordered, items arrived, the colour was not as described so requested a return. Told to 'use special delivery as its the only service which provides end to end tracking'. I didnt! I used royal mail tracked 48 as it is significantly cheaper and has end to end tracking. Returned 2 pairs of jeans in their original packing (a flannels dust bag inside the posting box) but they then claimed I'd only returned one! I accused the person who checked the returns of theft and miraculously the other pair were found. No postage was returned (in either direction) as they said we'd changed our mind so that is exempt..... I'd actually put not as described as the colour was so far away from the photos and description. Won't ever buy from them or House of Fraser (part of the same group) again.

PollyIndia · 07/11/2022 19:26

Yes I’d avoid too. I bought some ganni rubber boots from there and within a few weeks they were letting water in and they cracked a few months later. They wouldn’t give me a refund saying that I needed to prove the defect had been there at the time of purchase. I also
emailed ganni who said they would have refunded or replaced but they couldn’t help as I wasn’t their customer. Never again. It’s not cheap either.

Andrelax3 · 07/11/2022 19:53

I’m so pleased I posted on here. Haven’t made a purchase and just hoping I can buy from somewhere else in the Black Friday sales. Fingers crossed!

I’m still annoyed with them but I blamed myself for entering there shop lol. It was my first time and I was really looking for a nice hand bag to carry it everywhere and I managed to find the one I liked and bought it but 2 days later I found another nicer one somewhere else and a lot cheaper so went to return it back and little did I know that they don’t give a refund, no sign in the shop or on the till saying no refund or even staff could have told me like other shops do. I was forced to pick something else I didn’t want to buy and the bag was not cheap. So never again to enter that shop.
