Base coat and opi polish

I've recently bought a few opi polishes but they chip after one day even though I use a base coat. What am I doing wrong?

Do you use a top coat? And clean your nails first? Smile

Seche Vite top coat is good

I've always had the same problem with OPI. I use a base coat, let each layer dry thoroughly and then use a top coat and it still chips after a couple of days.

Nails Inc lasts easily 7 days using the same base and top coat that I use with OPI so I know it's the polish and Avon's gel wear lasts about the same and that's about a third of the price of OPI. I have even had better results with £2.99 Barry M than with OPI.

I have always found OPI ok/good, never used a base coat and always used Sally. Hansen Insta-dri topcoat, but I have very strong nails and always wear rubber gloves when washing up etc, but if my nails are a little flexible then I found it would chip.
