Hairdresser wants to give me a bleach bath

wtf?

I have longish naturally blonde, highlighted (foiled) hair which is fine.

Wont this ruin it?

Whether it would ruin it depends on loads of things.

I have had them and it’s no ruined my hair.

Why do they want to do a bleach bath? I assume they haven’t just come up with it out of nowhere.

They said my ends and mid lengths are darker than my crown, so want to bleach the ends to brighten them.

To be honest, I'd rather they ran some lowlights through the crown.

Does anyone know the actual process?

The bleach is mixed in with shampoo (and I think water). It should be very gentle on the hair. It will only lift it a shad or maybe 2.

I had one to remove the black colour I had so I could go a dark plum colour.

if you would prefer lowlights, just tell them that’s what you want.

Thanks. I will. I dont want to be any blonder than I am and bleach is bad for the hair anyway.

You had bleach to get your highlights!
If that's not what you want then tell the hairdresser what you do want

What are they using to get the lift the hair for highlights?

But if you don’t want it lighter tell them that. Definitely don’t have it done if it’s not what you want.

I will tell them.

The highlights were bleach, obviously but there's a difference between a few foils and a bath that lightens the hair by two shades.

The problem is that last time i had my roots done, the bleach was left on too long.

I've always understood a bleach bath to be less damaging than regular bleach - foils or otherwise. It's basically watered down bleach and is used to freshen the hair up.
