Sequin dress - dinner and dance

Please can you stylish Mumsnetters help me decide which dress to wear for a Christmas dinner and dance? I like the gold colour but also love the top half of the red dress. Or anything similar within the same budget.

Prefer the red. Gold in the whole dress can look a bit like something a drag queen would wear, although thats just my opinion!

Thank you both, red is winning so far. What boots could I pull off with the dress? I like high boots with a medium chunky heel, I don't think I could pull off cowgirl boots with it somehow. 😁

I wouldn't wear boots with this dress. I think killer heels but I'm useless with dressing up.

The gold one looks much nicer in the review pictures.

Sorry but I don't like either of those. There are some much nicer sequin dresses around imo. If you want to wear boots, you need sleeves.

No boots at all

I’m never keen on short, sleeveless and low cut. To me it’s too revealing. Unless you are a teenager with a great figure I think it’s not really appropriate for a winter ‘do’. You could however wear something over your shoulders to smarten it up a bit.

be careful I brought one from the same seller a few weeks ago. it looked nothing like the pics and was awful on. I had to return it.

I'm a size 8, hourglass and a B cup. Low cut dresses tend to not look too revealing on me because of my small chest. I'm 5'3" and find that I prefer short dresses as longer ones don't flatter my height.
I think shoes would look better but I'm a boots or flip flops person and struggle to find anything else I like.

There are some better sequin type dresses out there to be honest. I’ve just had a look for you.
this first one would be lovely with some black high heels and the second one - as it has sleeves and due to its style would work well with the boots I will link below too.

The dresses you’ve posted will not look right with any style of boot and definitely not flip flops.

I ordered the gold one but the fit was all wrong, the chest area gaped open with way too much room.

Does anyone have any suggestions with a similar neckline? It doesn't have to be sequins but I want to avoid black. Thank you 🙂
