Bra or no bra?

NowNumber5 · 30/10/2022 19:11

Does yours come off as soon as you get home?
Or are you a die hard bra wearer?

I'm one, my sister is the other.
We have similar sized bosoms so it's definitely down to personal preference, and not size!

Which are you?
(And how do I set up a vote on here? 🤔)

“I always think bra off, will make them hang and sag more as I age. My soft bras just keep them a little perky, which makes me not feel so old. lol“

I think this is definitely a myth!

RampantIvy · 30/10/2022 23:39

I don't think it is a myth. Surely gravity will eventually cause the sag.

JaceLancs · 30/10/2022 23:50

i feel very uncomfortable without a bra
In summer I wear a non wired light weight version

StarlightLady · 31/10/2022 04:36

36F here and comfortable in a well fitted underwired bra. A bra that fits well should not be uncomfortable.

With the exception of when I’m at work though, l leave mine off on a hot summer’s day as the band makes me sweaty.

Josette77 · 31/10/2022 07:23

I'm a 30E and hate bras. I usually go without during the day as well

Whatwouldscullydo · 31/10/2022 07:27

I always wear a bra. I have some soft/non.wired ones I sleep in or a crop top or two I'll wear instead to sleep in or around the house if I'm not going anywhere.

I cant stand not wearing one. I find them.much more comfortable now that I wear ones that are the right size. Bras shouldn't be uncomfortable if they fit right and are the right style for you.

Home, shower and pj’s.

Cantonet · 31/10/2022 09:56

I whip mine off the minute I get home.
I hate the feeling of being constricted & having a tight band around my chest. Even though it may be perfectly fitted!
Pregnancy did for mine - 4 times.
I should imagine if you haven't had children your boobs may be relatively unscathed & still perky.

I've ditched wearing them completely, is v freeing! I wear m and s vests and that's it; I wear loose clothes anyway - my boobs are quite small, i have sensory issues and I love it since I ditched them!

Zanzibarz · 31/10/2022 11:52

For me, a Bra is a necessary evil. Because I have very large boobs, I must wear them when I go out, to work, or to a party, but they are off straughtaway when I get home. I must say my DH loves me without it at home. They give my body a nice shape and make me look more attractive and confident. I simply cannot imagine going out without one. So Bra for me!!

Nope. It's the Coopers ligaments which mostly govern breast shape and height. As you age and with wear, these ligaments lengthen, giving droopy boobs. A well fitted bra supports the ligaments and helps prevent some of the age related wear and tear.

I wear a bra all day, but not in bed. It's not uncomfortable because it fits me properly. And it's not just about the size, it's also about getting something that suits the shape of your breast tissue for maximum comfort.

pizzabook · 31/10/2022 13:39

I haven't worn underwire since pre-Covid!! Soft bras all the way, which I don't take off until bedtime

MidnightMeltdown · 31/10/2022 13:50

YANBU

I hate not wearing a bra! Have never felt uncomfortable in them at all. If you do, then it probably doesn't fit right!

If I was an a or b cup, then I might not bother, but then I wouldn't wear one out of the house either! If you don't want to wear one, then why only take it off when you get home? Why own any at all?

Either you need one, or you don't, surely?!

I’m 32E and struggle to find comfortable ones! Where do you get yours if you don’t mind me asking.

JohnsShirt · 31/10/2022 13:57

I wear hollister racer back bras and find them really comfy, so never feel the need to take them off at home.

BamBamBilla · 31/10/2022 14:08

Wear underwired all day but if its a duvet day or I'm ill and I'm not moving about much I'll wear a nonwired one. Its not supportive enough to move about in but enough to at least give me something to hold them in. I don't wear one in bed.

StarlightLady · 31/10/2022 16:55

@FlissyPaps - I tend to wear Fantasie, Panache Tango and Gossard Glossies, sourced from various shops including John Lewis, Bravissimo and various on line outlets.

Maybe you should try size variation? Even when fitted, people can get it wrong! I need a totally different size in M&S although they don’t fit as well.

PM me if you want to go into further detail.
