Budget balm cleansers

So I’ve come to the end of my Lacura Balm Cleanser stash and I am bereft - it was sooo good. Think it was supposed to be a dupe for Emma Hardie but I can’t afford EH!

It was the first cleanser in forever that got rid of my dry patches on my nose but actually cleansed my skin and left it feeling so soft.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an alternative - preferably under £10?

I actually really like The Body Shop’s camomile cleansing balm. I haven’t used it for a while but it always left my skin feeling soft.

UpToonGirl · 29/10/2022 21:48

Yes, I second the body shop one. They often have 3 for 2, making it a better deal. The revolution one is OK, not as good as the body shop but not bad for a budget alternative.

The Emma Hardie one is my fav but although I like it more the others they do pretty much the same job so it's hard to justify the price tag. I take it Aldi have stopped doing it, because if its a dupe I would make a trip if its still being sold?

The Clean Beauty Club have an amazing Wonder Balm cleanser. It is £12.50 a tin but lasts ages and is fantastic at melting eye make up away too. You can rub it right into your lash line with zero irritation. It leaves my skin beautifully soft. I've been using it for 2 yrs now and would never use anything else Smile

The body shop camomile balm x

whatsupluckyducky · 29/10/2022 23:45

Primark have one that’s good. Think it’s only around £2. very similar to the Body Shop one.

RedBullRacingReserveDriver · 30/10/2022 00:17

Soap and glory do one - 'glow your mind' £9.95. I find it really good with my extremely stubborn waterproof mascara.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 30/10/2022 06:49

I love this facetheory one. £12.50, but it's 25% off everything this weekend and they often do similar deals.

Works well, smells beautiful and has improved my skin. www.facetheory.com/products/signature-cleanser-c1

I like the Body Shop one too and Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser.

Sausagedognamedmash · 30/10/2022 06:55

I picked up a Skin Saints one in tesco not so long ago for about £5. I had run out of my usual and just needed something that day. It's been great and lasts ages. I would definitely buy again.

ditavonteesed · 30/10/2022 07:00

I use coconut oil, works the same for melting makeup and about £2 for a massive jar.

ColeensBoot · 30/10/2022 07:12

Buy one from eBay. I ran out of lacura rose oil and got some on eBay. Slightly more expensive but still cheaper than alternatives that are not as good

feathermucker · 30/10/2022 07:14

Boots do a Rosehip one for about £6. It's an acquired smell hehe, but it's lovely. Though thinking about it, it's actually a hot cloth cleanser balm, but it's really nice.

Stupid question......do you rub it in then flannel it off? Thanks

ditavonteesed · 30/10/2022 07:19

@feathermucker melt a tiny bit in your hand, rub it on and wash off with flannel and hot water, the hotter the better so like a hot cloth cleanser really. Leaves skin lovely, both my dds use it and they have excema.

StrictlyJowita · 30/10/2022 07:19

I love this one from Boots Botanics.

PAFMO · 30/10/2022 07:25

I've used both the Body Shop and the Botanics one in the past, liked both. But, my new HG is the N7 one. I think it's rrp about £14 but my first tub was 40% off and my second I got with points.
I'll be sticking to this one: it's fab.

Parkmama · 30/10/2022 07:28

Primark balm to oil cleanser £3.50 is excellent

JMAngel1 · 30/10/2022 08:25

Thanks everyone - will definitely check some of these out. I just hate it when you find a brilliant product but it’s limited edition. Aldi are terrible for doing this - there have been so many things I’ve loved but can’t get anymore - they did a fantastic beauty flash balm dupe which I’ve still not got over not being able to get any longer 😥

Body shop one or M&S Pure.

Mrsacemay · 30/10/2022 08:45

Aldi do occasionally do the balm as a special buy so keep an eye out. I've had it a few times but it is annoying it's not in stock all the time.

As alternatives I like the boots camomile balm and the No 7 balm.

Iamanunsafebuilding · 30/10/2022 08:46

I use Ultrabalm from Lush, removes make up really well and doesn't annoy my sensitive skin

Gherkingreen · 30/10/2022 08:49

Superdrug Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser is a simple, budget option. I'm currently using a CeraVe cream cleanser which is more like a face wash.
Super moisturising (I have dry ish skin) , but gets my face really clean. It's about £10 and will definitely re-purchase.

ShaunaTheSheep · 30/10/2022 08:54

Did Aldi/Lidl sell their version in the run up to Christmas last year? I think I bought DD one then. My Liz Earle (a gift) is about to run out so this thread is timely.

JMAngel1 · 30/10/2022 09:04

Yes I think it was around Xmas last year - maybe they will do it again 🤞
