Navy velvet everyday coat

Was getting on a flight in the UK last week and saw someone wearing a lovely navy velvet coat. Single breasted, not eveningy, not swingy- just perfect. I really wish I had asked her where she got it and have now decided I need my own perfect navy velvet coat.

I've been googling away but everything I find is too 80s crushed. I though I had found a White Stuff one but the reviews say it is more cotton than velvet. Anyone seen one?

I am wearing exactly what you describe but in teal. It was from white stuff a few years back, they had navy too. Check ebay.

Boden had similar when I was looking.

I’ve just had a look on eBay and there are a few (Per Una, Viyella, Aquascutum etc).

Okay - I'm going to have another look. It needs to be new and returnable though- I've got broad shoulders and long arms so often between sizes and eBay et al is invariably an expensive disaster for me.

Was it a blazer type jacket or longer, I got a fab vintage velvet jacket for £6.99 in a charity shop recently. This White Stuff teal coat is most like it - in that I'm looking for a coat - but the coat I saw had lapels rather than a funel type front. Ahhh.
