Best foundation?

What foundation do you swear by? I’m thinking of trying Il Makiage (woke up like this) but I’ve read some reviews that suggest it can become cakey on the skin. The high street brand that seems to get good reviews is L’Oréal. I’d be interested to hear what you recommend and why?

Estée Lauder double wear but you have to get the right colour or it looks cakey.

I like Clinique foundation, you don't need a lot and it doesn't clag.

I heard the ordinary foundation is an amazing estee Lauder dupe

Latest favouite is loreal serum foundation.

L'Oreal Infallible. Nothing else comes close and I've tried so many. I liked cushion foundation when my skin was younger but now most foundations look dried out on my face.

It doesn't compare at all, the ordinary is very.... ordinary imho 😂

Depends what skin type you have? Il M is great if you're oily. Otherwise double wear. They do a great one for dry skin too, though No7 has a good dupe of that

I’m using erborian at the moment - the CC for lighter / dewy finish or the super BB on days I want better coverage

The new Charlotte tilbury one is good - Beautiful skin, most cake or oxidise on me but that one looks lovely all day. No caking.

II M is cakey and I much prefer double wear … very lightly used.

I like Armani luminous silk for day time and Charlotte Tilbury flawless for night time.

I guess it all depends on what kind of coverage you're looking for and your skin type, I've recently started using the L'Oréal serum foundation which I've been pleasantly surprised by, it gives a very light slightly glowy finish.

I was very impressed with the Lisa Eldridge foundation samples when I purchased a lipstick , so that would be my choice.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light but I think they've discontinued/reformulated it 😭

Estée Lauder double wear, I've tried multiple foundations & this remains the best one that stays in place without touch up for well over 12 hours a day.

As a side note, not a foundation but Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser is fantastic! Really lightweight & I use as a foundation on days when I don't want something as heavy.

I tried il makiage. First color was awful match so they kindly sent another out free of charge. Unfortunately it's just so drying and looks patchy and cakey

Bobbi Brown skin foundation stick is my favourite. You can wear it really sheer or build it up. It’s really natural looking and never goes cakes. Nars Sheer Glow comes in a very close second though. It has a bit more coverage and staying power.

I've been really happy with the No 7 foundations. Don't much care for their anything else but foundation and powder are great. And moisturiser.
