Lipstick colours - descriptions

bareMinerals is discontinuing one of my favourite liquid lipsticks, the Gen Nude range. So, I looked up the colours of the new range.
A blushing mauve and a dirty pastel lilac pink, compared to a deep rosy mauve. Are they different?
A mid-tone dirty nude, compared to a dirty pink beige. So, what colour are they? Brown and terracotta?
MAC is pretty bad at this. I saw a “yellow greyed nude”. What colour is that? Beige?

They want you to buy online but have terrible swatches of the colours and won’t use readily recognisable colour descriptions.

I always google the names and usually there are lots of swatches/photos of bloggers wearing them or comparing the colours. Definitely lots for MAC lipsticks.

I have been googling swatches of the Hourglass Velvet lip cream. I watched one video of one that’s described as mauve and it was brown.
I am getting to be a grumpy old lady, I guess. I know it’s all marketing, but for the love of God just say pink or rose or mauve. Warm or cool. Light or dark. Beige, terra cotta, brown. I will accept the use of chestnut rose but thus far and no further.
What the hell is mid tone?
Tan rose? Do you mean brown?
Honeyed pinky peach? Do you mean terracotta?
I don’t want to talk about the range of colours they think can be described by the word “coral”.
