I have three or four shirts and dresses made out of the kind of tencel that resembles chambray. I really like the way it looks, feels, drapes etc. But on every single one of them, the fabric has worn through to little holes in only a few months, and not in places you’d expect it to get really rubbed- generally the holes are half a cm or so away from seams. I wash at 30/40 degrees and never tumble dry. The garments range from £30 H&M shirts to a Whistles dress I paid over £100 for. Have I just been incredibly unlucky, or is this fabric in fact not robust enough for everyday clothes?
And on a similar subject, does anyone know where I can get a pale blue chambray shirt that won’t fall to bits after half a dozen washes?
