sun damaged leather jacket - what can I do?

My leather jackets been hanging all summer on a coat stand and has been damaged by the sun. The damage is on the collar, down one stretch of the sleeve and the folds at the back. It's really noticeable.

Is there anything I can do? Is there any treatment or product that would work ?

Try a renovating shoe polish. If it's black or brown they're easily available. If it's another colour you'll probably find it online. Leave it overnight before you buff it. You might have to do it a couple of times.

Ive never heard of renovating shoe polish - I will check out the colours and have a go.

My partner said saddle soap but other people said worst thing you could do.

I just wanted to say thanks. It's working. We've done several coats of polish and the sun marks are going away.

Glad it’s working. It”s such a shame when a favourite piece gets damaged.
