My DD13 has spent the last year surgically attached to her Docs. They’ve worn down too much and need replaced so I ordered a pair from Schuh. When they’ve arrived they felt almost plasticky. The leather is quite hard. She has wee feet so they’re junior ones. Her old pair are pretty soft and pliable. I appreciate they have had 365+ days of wear but neither of us remember them being hard like this at the start. Is this how they are or have we been unlucky?

@KirstenBlest its always been obvious to us as her joints are very mobile and never looked right but it’s finally being taken seriously.
That’s good to know. I had a look and I like the Solovair for me! Yes only a 3 is mad. She’s very tall but has wee feet!

This happened to me in Schuh. My husband bought them for me last Christmas but he bought me the hard shiny ones, I returned and swapped for the other ones. They are matt and soft leather. I think this may be the ones you are looking for too. You have probably bought the stiff ones in the picture with the box but you should swap for the pascal's in the other picture.

@littleroad, I started secondary school (age 11) wearing size 2.5 shoes but had fairly small feet. Kids feet grow and shoes get worn out quickly. Having to pay for adult ones for a 12 year old with size 4 feet seems so unfair.

I have the dealer boots in black hi-shine, and the astronauts (Toast Jade boots) in burgundy rub-off, 8-hole derby in black high shine, and a few more... I seem to wear the dealer boots the most. I briefly had the monkey boots in burgundy rub-off but they were huge so I sold them on, but they were beautiful. I need a massive clear out.

I had a massive clear out of DMs when a few years ago. I think I still have a pair lurking somewhere.

For the Pascals, shop around. I found some much cheaper than schuh just now.

It depends on the leather. They do smooth, Pascal and Nappa. Pascal and Nappa are soft and no breaking in needed. Smooth shreds feet until they're broken in - at that point, they're supposedly very comfortable. However, I'm still breaking in my Jadons from two winters ago so I can't vouch for that!

What material are the Vonda boots? I keep looking at them & trying to think no I'm not having them, but I really want a pair.

Vonda are Softy T leather, which is the softest. I’ve got the Chelsea boot style Vonda and they are really comfortable.
