How much do you pay for a manicure?

I have seen prices ranging from £10 to £28 for normal polish and £15 to £38 for Shellac. I have had a terrible experience in a cheap salon (gel removed with an electric file, nails still haven't recovered after a month) so I'm a bit wary about deals which seem too good to be true. What should I expect to pay?

I have Biab gels. They last for ages and the lady charges £22. She is excellent in fact - the best I have ever had. Last week I had a soak off and nail art on two nails and she charged £27 which I think is outstanding. This is in Leeds
