Deodorant recommendations

I've never before had trouble with any body oder and have always been able to use any deodorant, however recently I've been noticing I'm smelling a bit- though randomly only seems to be on one side. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good deodorant to use. I've always used spray and it's been the Sure black one and Mitchum that seems to not be working.

I like sure maximum cream. Comes in a box

Mitchum roll on .. leave it for a few mins to dry then spray .

I'd been using sure 72 hour spray for a while and had no issues, couldn't get any the last time I needed to replace so I picked up some Mitchum spray and it was rubbish! I don't know what they've done to it but it didn't hold up at all.

Wash your pits with bar soap and a flannel.

I dont rate mitchum at all and it takes ages to dry too. Sure or dove maximum is what I use now

I already use soap instead of shower gel

kjv1234 · 21/10/2022 21:43

Thank you. Will try some of these

Clean area with real soap, anti bac gel and then any anti- pers deo. I like mitchum roll on or stick

Guavafish1 · 21/10/2022 21:47

Try Aldi deodorant… very good and cheap

The best one I’ve found is the sure maximum cream in a box too. It’s not totally failsafe and you have to be careful because it leaves white marks on dark clothes if you put them on when it’s still drying, but for me unless it’s really hot out, it works. The sure maximum spray (black and white can) doesn’t work well for me. I can’t use things like Driclor as they bring me out in a rash but I’ve heard it’s very effective and you don’t have to use it every day.

Mens deodorant. Haven't had any problems since.

minipie · 21/10/2022 21:57

Agree with the Sure maximum cream one in a box. And soap not shower gel.

lentilly · 21/10/2022 21:59

Use the hardcore 48 hour cream that comes in a box. Apply as per instructions - usually after washing at night. It's counterintuitive as you want to put it on in the day but i think it needs to sink in or something. Consider botox to the armpits.

Floydthebarber · 21/10/2022 22:11

Mitchum or one of those cream ones.

The best advice I saw was on mumsnet and it was to wash your underarms twice. I use a bar of soap and soap up once, rinse then repeat. It was explained as removing the day before deodorant and then washing the skin. It has honestly made such a difference, even before my period when I have always been a bit more sweaty and stinky. I don't want to say it was life changing but it 's pretty close.

There's an eco Crystal one I get from Boots. I love it, it lasts ages. I think it's a men's one but it's unperfumed, black spray. They do a women's (white) one with perfume. You put it on after washing while your skin is still damp. They also do a solid stick, but I dropped mine once and it shattered! So I don't recommend that.

ThunderSocks · 21/10/2022 23:46

Mitchum roll on, but only the unscented one (I used to use the fragranced version but it started to make me smell bad). Also, I find lavender essential oil makes a really big difference, I just add a couple of drops to the soap in my hands when washing.

PinkArt · 22/10/2022 00:45

I switched to Mitchum men's and find it works loads better than the women's. The stick ones.

Timetochangetheoil · 22/10/2022 00:51

I recently switched to Wild when wanting something aluminium and paraben free, and with this deodorant I notice every time I get in the shower my pits still smell of the deodorant and it is the nicest fragrance! Genuinely works and lasts. And I have tried all sorts over the years.

Added bonus, it also comes in cardboard refills so no plastic.

BeaLola · 22/10/2022 01:08

Aldi roll on is very good

Lurkerlot · 22/10/2022 01:09

Mitchem

TerraNostra · 22/10/2022 07:29

Mitchum roll on is completely out of stock across the whole U.K.!
