I love vinted.

What are your best vinted buys and the best vinted searches.

I've just bought a lovely next dress for a £5.

Would like to branch out to more high street premium brands like hush &othwr stories cos and so on but not sure how much to pay for things.

I'm used to paying under a fiver for Items. So Which brands do you buy and how much do you pay for things.

Several or 8 sweaters from M&S, White Stuff, Monsoon - all under £10, some as little as £2 with tags

Boden jeans - lightly worn £6
Joules black skinnier £5
Long boots - £8
Rocket Dog boots new £6
New with tags New look jeans £5
M& S shirt dress £5

As examples. And I'm pleased with all of it.

VanCleefArpels · 19/10/2022 08:32

I always filter to £10 max out of principle 😜- also choose new with / without tags for quality control.

Ive had some amazing bits ranging from swimwear to dresses. It’s particularly useful for eg M&S jeans styles that you know fit you in a particular size (new offerings seem to be longer in the leg in particular). I also look for brands eg Boden, JL and Hush that I feel are over priced new. Also good for sportswear.

Gr33ngr33ngr4ss · 19/10/2022 08:34

Oh and a pair of new hush Jogger that MN loves for £10 with tags.

And a dress for a funeral - forgot that too.

Basically I shop at Vinted. 🤣

Gufo · 19/10/2022 08:34

Winter coat, 2 jumpers and 3 bundles of leggings and tees for dd (got the bundles for residential as she had a growth spurt and I didn't want to buy new clothes that may get ruined)

Onesie for DS, jacket for DH

For me:
M and S merino jumper
Midi skirt and chambray dress
Jacket
Winter coat
Chunky cropped jumper

There might be more Blush

One thing I do wish though is a better/ more comprehensive search function. If you are looking for a particular sleeve shape or length, or neckline for example it’s very hit and Miss and you end up scrolling through hundreds of things- anyone else find this?

A lot of that is down to the lister I think. Not great at detail. If there was an option for sleeves, most wouldn't use it! Some jeans, especially, listed under odd categories!

If you filter down size, colour and brands and always sort by newest first it helps not to keep scrolling the same things.

Absolutely loads of stuff I've bought over the past couple of years. Several pairs of boots, vintage jackets and bags, few different pairs of Lucy & Yak trousers and even some Yankee Candles and a couple of books more recently.

My most recent find I'm thrilled about is triple pleated, thermal lined door curtains in William Morris fabric for £12:50 +fees & postage. The difference it has made to keeping the heat in my living room is wonderful.

inappropriateraspberry · 19/10/2022 10:00

I've just started using Vinted to sell. Have some £43 worth of kids clothes and a few bits of mine that don't fit I don't wear.
Once it's in my balance I need to withdraw it before I end up spending it all!
They've been sat on Facebook marketplace with no interest, but have sold quickly on Vinted. It's a lot easier and quicker than eBay to list and sell.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 19/10/2022 13:08

Just bought a Ted Baker dress for a summer wedding next year for £10, but I had £7 in my balance so a real bargain! Checked the same dress on eBay where people are listing it (used) for £65+. Very pleased.

Now to just hope it fits/is the right shade for me. I have been a bit click-happy in the past and have a few things that don’t suit, but I’ve just relisted them. Love Vinted! I don’t really shop at real shops anymore. It’s fab for children’s clothes.

xogossipgirlxo · 19/10/2022 13:51

I could never understand the hype, but my friend recommended it to me and I already bought few items 😂I am due to receive them shortly, so I will see if I like the experience. I bought burberry scarf, john lewis jumper, MS office trousers and some face masks trio for £22 which would be £60 on manufacturer's website.

mrsjimhopper · 19/10/2022 17:40

This is excellent Inspiration.

For those in doubt it worth it

I made £200 I'm month selling bits and pieces we no longer need or wear, nothing high-end of designer and priced low to sell.

I got a £10 coat for myself, it pristine.

DS is really getting into his labels recently, I've managed to get him a couple of lacoste t-shirts for £5 each, I wash and iron them and he doesn't know they're from vinted. I also got him a pair of Nike aire force one's for £55 also absolutely pristine, the seller was clearly a shoe collector. I can't afford the £110 for a brand new pair!

mrsjimhopper · 19/10/2022 18:08

@Invisimamma what cost did you get?

My husband and collects trainers -such a weird thing to do! He also sells them.

VanCleefArpels · 19/10/2022 18:14

Depop or Vestiare better for the really high end / expensive trainers - my DS partly funded his student social programme by buying/selling Yeezy and the like (I don’t understand that works but there is profit to be made it seems!)

JudgeRindersMinder · 19/10/2022 18:14

Pretty much my entire wardrobe for the last year! I’ve lost a lot of weight and have gone from a size 28/30 to a 14/16, so I’ve been “renting” from Vinted-buying brand new then selling on when things no longer fit -it must have saved me hundreds!
I tend to stick to brands I know a size will fit such as Next, my best current buy is a BNWT down puffa Next jacket for £7, and a BNWT Superdry jumper for £5!

WarmBeerAndSandwiches · 19/10/2022 18:15

Thanks to everyone for this thread. I bought a leather jacket from All Saints last year which I loved but I somehow managed to stain the arm - think it is a water stain. The jacket was an unusual colour which really suited me so I was so disappointed as it had sold out everywhere. After reading this thread I had a browse on Vinted and found a 'new without tags' replacement for a really good price. To say I'm chuffed is an understatement. Grin

Invisimamma · 19/10/2022 18:15

It was just a h&m coat, lined and really nicely cut...but £10 though! Even if I only wear it occasionally that'll do 🙂. I have a 'good' waterproof but needed something a bit smarter.

mrsjimhopper · 19/10/2022 18:29

I also a added a £2 pair of jeans (primark) to a bundle for a discount and they are my favourite. And 2 gilet for dog walking form Matalan.

schmalex · 19/10/2022 18:43

My favourite buy so far has been some very lightly worn Frame jeans for £25 (retail £250). I also snap up Chinti & Parker cashmere sweaters if I see them at £40 or under.
I've sold lots of things that don't fit me anymore. I find Zara pieces sell in a flash. It's best to list at the weekend.
Vestiaire is better for selling high end pieces.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 19/10/2022 18:44

I need to get on this site! Have lots to sell as my weight has fluctuated over the years so I have lots of different sizes. Will dig it all out at the weekend & get some pennies for Christmas

SuperstarDJsherewego · 19/10/2022 18:48

I got a fantastic snowsuit for toddler for £10, new it £110!

CampervanKween · 19/10/2022 19:28

mrsjimhopper · 18/10/2022 22:23

@CampervanKween what makes have you bought so far! Needs some inspiration!

Sorry just seem this. I've bought a lovely Dancing Leopard wrap dress. Hangs beautifully. Love it. Colours are vivid and very flattering cut.

Also got a bit obsessed with Joan Vass batwing jumpers. Actually initially got one at a bootsale for £1, it was so soft and went with everything. Have now purchased in every colour I can find on vinted.

inappropriateraspberry · 19/10/2022 20:42

This thread has reminded me I need a new coat for my son. Begrudge paying £30+ for a coat he'll grow out of or wreck!
Have found a brand new coat same as his old one for £5, perfect!

xogossipgirlxo · 20/10/2022 11:26

I should stop reading this thread, it makes me want to browse Vinted all day 😂
