I'd rather go to the dentist than hairdresser!

As in the title. I seem to have fallen into a yearly haircut routine, where I cut my hair into a bob, deeply regret it, only to cut it again next year.

I thought I managed to skip this year as it used to be a summertime occurrence, alas I gave in last week and now instead of healthy, collarbone-length auburn tresses I have a very choppy bob with bleached highlights.
I can barely put it up, the red colour that was on top of it already faded to a warmer tone and I want my longer hair back!

My hairdresser is lovely, she did what I asked for. I showed her the length I want her to cut to, but my hair was wet and once dried it went up by good 2 inches!! So instead of hitting mu shoulders it's mid-neck and annoying.
I know it won't be long for it to grow back, but why do I keep doing this.
I'm so annoyed with myself! I suppose at least I can wear a hat for a few months until it grows back....

Yep! Me too. I just want nice hair. Always end up with the same thing and hate the whole experience. The subtle sales
pitch for ‘products’, the aeons you spend in there, the cost, the lack of transparency. All
of it.

This is a bit of a placemark. Will post some proper thoughts soon. But OP you are not alone!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I realise this is a miniscule problem, especially in comparison to what's been going on in the world for a while, but I can's stop being annoyed at myself.

I'm 35 years old, I should know better! I've been in this cycle for the past 5 years!!
At least I didn't spend a fortune as hairdresser is a friend so charged me less. DH loves it too. I told him that he can treat himself to a 2.5hr salon visit and bleach damage if he wants. He thinks I should colour it purple next, because it's fun....meanwhile he's had the same haircut for the past 20 years 🤔

I decided to cover up the highlights with a different, darker colour and it looks a bit healthier already. I'm glad it was only £50, but my hair is so dry now!
Plus it's so short it's sticking out in all directions and I need to tame it every morning. When it was longer it just looked nice after brushing.

Anyone seen any nice hats for the winter, as I think I'll have to stick with that!!

this is why I now trim my own hair, I will never go to a hairdressers again.

This is why I cut and colour my own hair now. I have complete control and if I do fuck it up I'm not pissed off at having paid 100 odd quid for it!
