Has anyone seen any mini dresses?

You know the type you can wear with black tights and chunky boots? Shops just seem to be full of tops and trousers or midi/ maxi dresses.

Ideally petite, but if not I can turn up the hem, and with long sleeves. Open to pinafore styles too that can be worn with layers.

I just got a couple of nice nobody's child ones from Vinted.

Littleguggi · 17/10/2022 21:12

@Camesawconquered what's the quality of nobodys child dresses?

KittytheHare · 17/10/2022 21:24

Lily and Me have lots of shorter dresses. Try Weird Fish also

Littleguggi · 17/10/2022 21:33

Thanks @KittytheHare if I'm honest I'm not keen on some of the prints.

I probably should have said more about my style, so I am hourglass and like a skater style with or without a belt, or an oversized fit. I like florals or non fussy block colours. I'm not fussed about the necklace, ideally a V shape.

Boden have a few. I’ve bought this one recently and it’s a dress up or down dress.

This type of thing? joanieclothing.com/dawn-o-porter-x-joanie-pisco-geometric-print-a-line-mini-dress.html

Littleguggi · 17/10/2022 22:16

I guess I'm thinking something more like this but without the price tag

The Sezane one is lovely OP but the price!

haribonoyoudont · 17/10/2022 23:35

Ahh ok - take a look at what Nobody's Child has to offer maybe?

I think this one is particularly pretty: www.nobodyschild.com/dresses/lengths/mini-dresses/pink-georgia-floral-pink-long-sleeve-mini-daisy-dress.html

ponderingpaula · 18/10/2022 06:35

Was going to say sezane on Vinted

Camesawconquered · 18/10/2022 06:53

Littleguggi · 17/10/2022 21:12

@Camesawconquered what's the quality of nobodys child dresses?

They're okay, probably on a par with Oasis both quality and size wise.

WellWaitForItToPass · 18/10/2022 07:09

Oasis, Karen Millen and Next have a few.

Ive been looking recently too. Tiered midi dresses do NOT suit me but it’s all there seems to be!

Igneococcus · 18/10/2022 07:13

I have a few Nobody's Child dresses (midi mostly) as does dd and the quality of the fabrics can be variable. It's quite hard to tell just by looking at the website. They do free returns though and I have never had an issue with their returns and refunds.

Autumnsunshines · 18/10/2022 07:19

What are sizes like for NC dresses? Eg Is a size 10 like a average 10?

Gruelle · 18/10/2022 08:02

& Other Stories has loads of minis - the majority considerably cheaper than Sezane. (And the website is a bit less twee!)

Igneococcus · 18/10/2022 10:07

For me the sizes are pretty spot on, it depends a bit on the cut. dd who is a size 8 has two pinafore dresses from NC and she had to go up a size for them but all other dresses and skirts are fine in her usual size. Also, I'm tall and all the midi dresses I have are a good length for me. I never bought anything else than dresses or skirts from them, don't know about trousers or tops.

waltzingparrot · 18/10/2022 12:56

La Redoute have a lot of mini dresses in the sale at the moment.

User19876 · 18/10/2022 20:40

I’m not loving the midi/maxis either OP, I have bought a couple and just chopped off the bottom to turn them into mini dresses!

Littleguggi · 18/10/2022 21:23

@User19876 I have actually considered doing the same, sadly mini dresses do not seem to be the trend this season!

OP posts:
Littleguggi · 18/10/2022 21:38

@Gruelle I agree that &other stories has some lovely dresses but I find their website awful, hardly any clothes are modelled on actual people so you can see how they fit

OP posts:
Littleguggi · 18/10/2022 22:10

@waltzingparrot thanks, la redoute is a good shout, now I'm spoilt for choice!

😮 I clicked on the link for this.

so the model is massively taller and many, many sizes smaller than me unfortunately...

I wonder how it fits on a more average figure
