Secret Santa £20

My in laws do a group secret Santa for Christmas gifts as there are 4 of them so you get one present. the budget is £20 per person who is not related to them.

I always pick something as luxury as I can get for that price as I’d rather have something that’s a bit of a treat even though I could get way more if I picked things like socks or chocolates. I sort of challenge myself to find something but this year I am at a loss.

any ideas? Maybe a lipstick? A little pot of Clinique take the day off? Maybe one olaplex bottle? Help!

Thinking about it, that may stretch to 4 items from The Ordinary? Maybe I could put those on the list.

I'd rather have one lovely thing than a mix of smaller treats that I might buy myself

Fabulous bottle of wine (Waitrose usually do a £10 offer of some brilliant wines that usually retail for the £15-£18 mark in the run up to Christmas, you could get 2 of those)

Lovely lip balm eg Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, Eve Lom Kiss mix etc

Pot plant

Paperback novels?

Magazine subscription ( I think you can get 3 or 6 month ones)

Gardening gloves

The olaplex hair oil is lovely

Clarins relaxing bath gel

Kiehls hand cream (best I've ever used)

Hot water bottle

I feel the same about getting something special instead of run of the mill things, a few years I have had an eyeshadow palette (heavily discounted as it was just after Xmas) and a nail varnish set. I just wonder about the Ordinary as it might give me a chance to try somethings that I haven’t before and probably wouldn’t if it was my own money:

what number is the olaplex hair oil? Is it 6? I don’t think the budget stretched to Moroccan oil which I currently use - i did check that one:

the hand cream! Definitely looking that up!

Chanel handbag mirror?

Defiantlynot41 · 17/10/2022 11:56

Olaplex oil is no 7 hwsbeauty.co.uk/products/olaplex-no-7-bonding-oil-30ml

Hand cream www.kiehls.co.uk/body/category/hand-treatments/ultimate-strength-hand-salve/522.html (2 sizes)

The Kiehls shower oil is also lovely, or L'Occitane shower oil

Ah. The olaplex is out as it’s £1 over.

I might try the hand cream out as that does have a smaller size. I am hoping that more shops do some Christmas sets before Xmas.

is it poor show just to ask for vouchers?
