Quality clothes

I feel I have spent fortune continuously replacing clothes that have stretched, shrunk, discoloured, bubbled etc.I simply don't know where to look for quality clothing you can expect last a bit.Even more expensive items often don't last.
Any advice?

People tree are good I find their stuff lasts. Boden also

GettingStuffed · 15/10/2022 11:31

At the cheaper end of the price range Roman and Patra silk

Baukjen clothes are really well made and (are designed to) last. They are expensive though. I find Other Stories, Mint Velvet and Boden do too. I have read that Hush doesn’t last well for others. I haven’t found that with items I have bought from them.

Toast

SarahWoodruff · 15/10/2022 15:23

Cos and Arket are very reliable, in my experience. Hush is terrible, with mad sizing and scratchy knitwear. Avoid avoid avoid.

Passenger clothing for more outdoorsy stuff (without going down the proper "outdoor clothes" route)
Good quality t shirts and sweatshirts

Deguster · 15/10/2022 15:24

Im still wearing 20 year old Toast stuff 🙂

Another one who can attest Hush clothes don't last. I like Whistles, Reiss and Baukjen. They are spendy though.

I love my Toast clothes. Expensive but last for years. Well worth the cost but am buying less due to recent price hikes

Noodle421 · 21/12/2022 14:57

Thriving market for Toast and Me and Em on EBay

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 21/12/2022 15:05

I will never buy from Hush again. For the price, the quality is abysmal.

Wash clothes less often and more gently. I use the wool wash on the machine for more than just woollens and it seems to help clothes last longer.

Dogsgottabone · 21/12/2022 15:39

Cos. I'm still wearing a merino dress I bought 8 years ago. I machine wash on wool wash and it looks new.

Another vote for Baukjen and Reiss. Also Sezane if you wash it carefully
