Black trainers for a London weekend

Coffeepot72 · 15/10/2022 09:15

I’ve no plans to totter around the capital in heels,, so I have decided to buy some black trainers that I can also wear afterwards for walks/errands. But do I want completely black trainers, or is it more fashionable to have the white bottom section? I am hoping to spend as little as possible. Any suggestions?

All black. Airforce 1s?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/10/2022 09:19

All black can look a bit school boy imo. I bought black Stans but they only work with short skirts and tights imo. They look awful with jeans.

Nike has a few choices for all black

Lurking
I had some timberland All black trainers 20 years that I loved

Whatever I buy would need to work with jeans. And we are planning to see a show, so a nod towards fashion is helpful

I have these in several colours. The most comfortable trainers ever!

I have a hatred of black shoes - they're very school like. It's always crisp white trainers for me. Or could you go for comfy flat boots?

JulieDorney · 15/10/2022 10:18

Oooh- just asked the same and didn't see your post!

Myjobisanightmare · 15/10/2022 10:22

Yes it’s hard not to fall into lad school shoe territory the best I managed was black leather supergas and high leather converse both look fine but don’t have the cushioning support to walk for miles and miles on a city break at my age

There's actually another black trainers thread in active convos at the moment so you might get some ideas there - I just posted a link to these, which DD gave me for my birthday

Vans or Nike SB have nice comfy black suede trainers.

Blueberrycreampie · 15/10/2022 10:55

I got these last week ; a cross between trainers and boots. Real suede with a fleece lining. From Amazon Rieker Women's L7132 Ankle Boots.
Wonderfully comfortable for my wide feet and only £34.99. They did come from Germany though ( I tracked them) so took a few days to arrive.

I have a pair of black suede ones from JL and then saw these from Dune but could not justify the full price with already having a pair of black trainers. But have managed to get them for £28 plus postage.

I think I might change the laces to black but will see when they arrive.
I have a quilted black Mulberry so a nice bit of matchy matchy :)

Google Andia Fora sneakers on Yoox. Never cheap, but they are so wild that they manage to stay light years away from any whiff of school trainers.

Mercurial123 · 15/10/2022 15:50

I just bought these
