Cool Neutral Warm???

Hi, I’m trying to buy a fancy foundation online.

I realise I’m not going to put it on my legs, but I didn’t want to post my face for obvious reasons and my arms have some identifying features. They are all pretty much the same colour anyway. (I think) My face may be slightly lighter perhaps 🤔

I have to pick from cool warm or neutral tones. I have no idea what this means. I read about blues and yellows, but I don’t know where I’m supposed to see that.

I took a pic of my skin tone and it’s quite colour accurate, so I’m hoping someone can give me an idea of what I should go for?

I am a newbie to posh beauty products so apologies if I sound stupid.

Look at your inner wrist at the colour of your veins.

I think you look warm toned, but it's not so easy to tell from your leg tbh.

Do you have a white item of clothing and a cream one? Try putting both under your chin and see which colour lights up your face more and makes you look healthy and glowing.

If it's the white one, you're cool toned. If the cream, you are warm toned.

Btw, you don't sound at all stupid.

Oh, if you can get some samples of foundation that would be a good way to try. Lots of brands do them, quite cheaply.

My veins look like a green purple colour or a mix?

Then I reckon you are neutral.

Ooh good idea! I think I look better in cream. The white is too bright for me.

I think samples might be the way forward. I didn’t really want to go into a shop, but I might have to.

Does anyone know what’s best, a matt foundation or a satin? I don’t want to look fuzzy, but I don’t want to look shiny either.

Thank you for responding ☺️

Fantastic. I’ll see if I can get some neutral samples and pick a colour. Thank you!

As for Matt or Satin, if you have an oily skin or foundation slides off your face then go for Matt. However if your skin is dry or quite lines then go for Satin. You can always powder you nose if it is too shiny (just powder the t zone not near your eyes).
