Received second hand coat didn't order!

Received a second hand (dirty) coat through the post. I assume it came from Vinted but I didn't buy it. No transaction is showing and no money has left my account. Vinted dont seem to understand and are telling me to contact the seller (their name is on the Yodel label) but I don't know the seller so can't contact them! How long do I have to hold onto this dirty coat before I can get rid of it? (Not an experienced Vinted user). I've tried to think how this could be a scam but can't think of anything.

Can you search for the seller on Vinted?

It looks like a "brushing scam"

They don't usually involve such large items but it still looks like one.

I've had a couple of them- can't even remember what they were they were such tat. You can dispose of the coat.

I had this happen to me with Evri and it turned out it was from a seller I’d previously bought something from on vinted. The seller had accidentally reprinted my label by mistake. Even though it had already been used by Evri she was still able to reuse the same postage label. If you have bought stuff from Vinted recently it’s worth checking the the tracking numbers to see if any match the one on the coat.

Great idea to check the tracking numbers thanks. I did contact the last couple people and they said it wasn't them, but will try that way. Searching the sellers name doesn't bring anything up, presumably they have a username whereas the label showed their actual name. And there are a lot of people on Facebook with this name!

Interesting links re the scams, thank you. I don't think it's that, but it's possible. The coat would have been fine to sell if it had been washed! I'm pretty sure it's a case of someone printing the wrong label, or a shop printing the same label twice or something.
