Can anyone recommend a brand of Italian magic trousers?

I’m short and pear shaped and want to give these a go. Seen some on Amazon but mixed reviews on quality.
can anyone recommend/link to a brand they’ve bought and like? Thank you!

Just curious, why do they have to be Italian?

OwBist · 12/10/2022 15:31

I don't think there are "brands" per se.... I've had some from Elsie's Attic which are great, and some which didn't last long. The last 2 pairs I bought from Amazon have been great. I think it's suck it and see, unfortunately. I do tend to get ones which have a guide size, though - I find on the one size (where I'm near the top end!), the seams give way after a while if they're constantly stretched due to the amount of elastine (or whatever it actually is in the fabric which makes them "magic") breaking, so yes - they will stretch to fit and be v comfy, but stretch them too far, for too long, and they won't last very long.

@EmmaH2022 they don't, I thought that's what they were called 😂

@owbist thank you! Do you mind linking to the amazon ones you got?

Oh! I was thinking, wow, what a specific request! 😂

I have these and they’re so comfy!

MorrisZapp · 12/10/2022 15:45

I follow a lady on insta called the Meek Boutique. Her biggest seller is jogger jeans, I think that's what this is? They're quite expensive but get rave reviews, and she shows each size modelled on her friends.

Gr33ngr33ngr4ss · 12/10/2022 16:32

They're all the same unbranded brand aren't they?

With a mark up on the "boutique" Facebook pages that sell the OSFA stuff.

Itstheimplication · 12/10/2022 18:51

Thank you! I have no idea @Gr33ngr33ngr4ss some seem to be more of a jersey stretch material while others appear to be more crinkly and shiny?

Thanks for the links.

The Meek Boutique jeans look great but so pricey!

I have the Meek Boutique trousers, they are lovely but more of a thicker jean than a magic trouser. I wear them rolled up during the day, very casually, they are comfortable.

The magics can be worn more as a smart trouser, particularly if you buy the thicker almost twill versions, they really aren't all the same - some are very thin fabric and very shapeless, I've bought the cheap ones in the past and wouldn't blame anyone for not liking them.

fudgefiesta · 12/10/2022 21:20

What are "magic trousers"?! They just look like standard tie waste crop trousers to me. Is that the official name for that style?

Spareline · 12/10/2022 21:49

Why is everyone suddenly asking about magic trousers? From what I’ve seen, these are joggers you can get anywhere else in much nicer fabrics. I am a size 18 and there are no trousers on earth which will make me look a size 12 no matter how clever the marketing.

Loki64 · 12/10/2022 23:36

A company called Goose Island do a range of these

Ladywiddio48 · 12/10/2022 23:39

Euphoria Clothing do some lovely trouser like these.Had some last year.

LaBrujaPiruja · 12/10/2022 23:42

Why are they magic? Seem pretty normal (and shapeless) to me.

Itstheimplication · 13/10/2022 09:17

I think the name is because in a lot of them it’s one size fits most, can be worn smart or casual and supposed to be comfortable at the same time.
However quite a few I’ve seen look like very cheap fabric.

the reason I’m keen on trying them is because I am a pear shape and short, so I struggle to get jeans or trousers to fit both my thighs/hips but also my waist. They’re usually gaping round the waist.

I've never heard of them before... They look like slim tracksuit bottoms. Not sure what's 'magic'?!

buttons123456 · 13/10/2022 11:17

They are all basically the same , thr Amazon ones are the same as the ones they sell for £55 in the 'boutique shops' online

Rina66 · 14/10/2022 09:09

I've just looked at mine, they're made by Sugarbabe and have a seam across the back.
I have some grey ones that I've never worn and I'm giving to charity. They're by D Style which were cheaper, the fabric is thin and they are much smaller and no back yoke for shape.
Magic trousers are definitely not all the same, I've photographed them together to show the difference but I have a new phone and am struggling to up load them. I will keep trying though.
