Best pencil lipliner?

I have loads of lip liners, but none I love - either too dry, not enough pigment, drag too much etc. ideally looking for an old fashioned pencil rather than the twist up ones. My old favourites used to be Body Shop ones back in the day, but they’ve changed from pencil to twist up…

Mac is your friend

MAC are the best imo.

NYX are more affordable and also very good.

I actually used to use a primark lipliner until I stopped finding the shade.

Lisa Eldridge ones are nice

I’ve bought Estée Lauder lip pencils (the kind that you sharpen with a pencil sharpener) for 20+ years. They last ages and ages, and are soft, but not so soft that they crumble.

I have three, and they seem to suit all the lip colours I own:

spice for brown shades
rose for pink shades
nude for (you’ve guessed it) nude shades

Huda are lovely and soft but long wearing, Boots sell the range. Great colours too.

On the subject of lip liners... how do you select the right shade? Do you match the colour to the lipstick you're wearing, or match to your own lip colour??

I guess it depends on what colour lip you're going for.

If I'm doing a red lip I always use a red liner.

I always tend to use a slightly darker liner than the lipstick I'm using and then blend the colours together.

@HelenRose1111 thats exactly the one I nearly ordered earlier! Have already ordered an NYX one, so will see if that’s any good first.

After a few glasses of wine last night, I overspent on the Huda website, and ordered three liners 😄😬
the NYX one arrived today, and it’s really nice too. So I reckon I’m stocked up on lip liner for the forseeable future! 😃

I've got four @tigerbear - red, pinky brown, rusty pink and vivid pink 😱 I really like them, my only criticism would be they don't last very long because they have a more creamy self propelling consistency - but I'm fed up with sharpening my other pencils that just break or the lead bit falls out, so I'll stick with Huda, Estee Lauder double wear are also good, if you're not done yet 😂they have a bigger range of colours.
