Hi, I've spent almost a year now trying out all different cheap foundations- like rimmel, L'Oréal, max factor ect, and none of them sit right on my skin, or I can't seem to find the right shade. So I'm think of trying a more expensive one, either Mac, Clinique, or Charlotte Tillbury.. has anyone used any of these? If so which one do you like the most, I have fair combination skin, and just want something that will give me nice coverage without being too cakey.. thank youuu x

Clinique stay matte oil free foundation or Clinique anti blemish. Also fair combination skin.

I've been using them for years. Not too expensive and last for ages.

Did you try primark? Theirs is supposed to be a fantastic dupe of Elizabeth Arden double wear.

Don't rush out and buy one. Go to the individual counters, tell them what you are looking for, let them suggest a product and colour match you then ask for a sample. That way you can try each for a few days to check how they look and feel. Do they oxidise on your skin for example or make you shiny very quickly? How long do they last? Do they sit in your wrinkles (if you have any)?

Ive tried alot and my favourites are Armani, Estee Lauder and Il Makiage. But... my skin isn't your skin. You need to go to a department store and try some to see what works for you, get some testers.

Dior & revolution skin blur primer.

What age are you?
Your skin changes as we age, you may need a plumping primer under a sheer formula. Rather than more more more.

Charlotte Tilbury was very cakey on my face. I love Clarins Youth Fluid. Have tried a lot of other brands and this is the best!

Armani is the best one I've tried. I think it's called Liquid Silk. It's so expensive but so good!

I normally wear Shiseido tinted moisturiser these days though - I find I'm needing less full coverage as I get older.

Boots No 7 and get the assistant to advise on shade

Nars Sheer Glow and NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation both work well for me.

If you get properly color matched I don't think there's anything on the market as good as Estee Lauder double wear. Worth the money to me as I just use it like a concealed and buff it in with a brush. Lasts ages, never cakes and lasts all day.

I would do this. You can go to Boots and get your face zapped with a little machine thingy and it will tell you the correct shade.
