What to wear on feet with straight leg tailored trousers

As title. I’ve just acquired some really nice navy straight-leg trousers for work (office wear). Then I realised I don’t know what shoes or boots would go with them. Am reluctant to wear my chunky black loafers because I’ve always thought navy and black don’t go. Any thoughts?

Are they full length or ankle grazers?

I think navy trousers and black shoes are ok but tan is better.

I struggle with the wide legged trousers and footwear. Trainers look a bit 90s plus no good for work. Boots can be ok but make me feel a bit middle aged if I’m not careful

Nude loafers or a nude kitten heel?

(pressed send too soon) navy can be tricky in autumn/winter as shoes, coats, bags etc generally tend to be black!

I'd go with tan/brown loafers or brogues but black is fine if that's all you have.

Navy and black go well. As long as smart and clean (no fluff, ironed etc.).

I wear navy and black together all the time, have chunky black loafers with navy tailored trousers on as we speak in fact! Brogues also work.
