A-line mini for mum tum?

I'm trying to dress slightly nicer than I have been post two c sections and resulting mum tum that mucks up the lines of my pre-baby wardrobe. Struggling to figure out a new style, but I'm thinking an A-line mini skirt with a big lovely jumper and tights will be a good mix of comfortable and pulled together. I'm size 14 with big hips/big tum.

Problem is: I'm struggling to find the skirt! I used to own the Whistles a-line leather skirt and that was the right fit, but I don't want leather. Lots of skirts marked as "a line" are in fact quite close fitting and not the look I'm after. I think a stiff fabric will be more flattering than something silky, clinging or fitted.

Any ideas?

You could literally be me. I was coming on here to recommend the Whistles leather a line, but I see you already know about it!

I got to the point that I was actually planning on buying material, taking the whistles leather skirt to a dressmaker and asking them to copy it.

oh that Whistles skirt is lovely - and I now want it in all of the colours!

The whistles skirt is genuinely lovely and very flattering if you've got an hourglass type shape -- but it's also £170! However, if you've got that cash, I did own it (pre mum tum) and loved it.

Any other ideas or have we determined that skirt is the holy grail now unavailable to me? (I'm probably in £60 skirt budget territory now. And this skirt will be covered in porridge at some point.)
