I need some shoes for a dinner-dance!

I'll be wearing an electric blue jump suit and need shoes to go with it but they need to be very comfortable, not high but I don't think I want flat unless they are somehow super fancy.
I'm going to wear gold jewelry. I bought a pair of sparkly heels from Dune but the heel is too thin so I don't think theyll be good for dancing.
I checked the band out and I think it's gonna be a big dancing evening!
Help please.

I don't wear heels much anymore as they really play havoc with my back

pointy gold flats from Sam Edelman?

orange wedges from Sorel - would be super comfortable all night but are a bit out there Confused

pink slingbacks from Boden but prob not so great to dance in all night?

Or find some comfortable plain ballet shoes and add shoe clips to make them sparkle?

BitOutOfPractice · 10/10/2022 07:36

sandal with a block heel. So many of them a the moment. Gold? Silver?

BitOutOfPractice · 10/10/2022 07:37

Could you manage this jerk?

BitOutOfPractice · 10/10/2022 07:38

Heel not jerk! 😬

CinnamonJellyBeans · 10/10/2022 07:40

I would suggest a platform sandal.

Paradox London are good for sparkly platform sandals. Also New look do sparkly platforms with a block heel, so will be very comfortable.

Is there a modern dance/ballet store near you? For heels I have to dance or stand in they usually sell soft soled character shoes- they will have a heel & most likely an ankle strap. It's a few years since I've bought any but it was a revelation when I did!

Have a look at simple Reiker shoes with cutout patterns and low heel

LookItsMeAgain · 10/10/2022 08:23

How about these ones from the site that someone else linked to:
www.samedelman.co.uk/marisol-flat.html?color=275

Or something like this:
www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/pearl-strap-ballerina-flats-silver-metallic/sty-a1285-slv?cat=C1_S2_G11

Personally, I like these one (I've always had a thing for red shoes, I love them):

Great minds @LookItsMeAgain 😁 The ultimate in comfort!

I do like the first pair! They are a contender for sure. Thank you!

First ones look comfy but not fancy enough I don't think.
I think I want to wear a gold shoe to match the jewelry.

The pearl ones are nice, I agree red shoes are fab!

The dancewear ones do looks comfy but the gold one doesn't have a strap - I think I need a strap. So I will check out that site, thank you.

I don't think I have a dance shoe store near me, I'm just in a small town so best bet is online.

@BitOutOfPractice were you meaning to send a link of a shoe there about the heel?

OP posts:
Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/10/2022 12:50

These are the ones I bought but just toooo pointy and right at front and I think I'd fall off the heel.

I need some shoes for a dinner-dance!

I can't see any suitable for evening wear @mastertomsmum maybe I'm looking in the wrong place

I'm away down a rabbit hole and these are not for the dinner dance but omg I love these! Gold boots!

I bought the silver version of these for an event recently. They are very sparkly and very comfortable, and I say that as someone who pretty much never wear heels

@MustBeThursday oh very sparkly! Good to know they are comfy.

@BitOutOfPractice yes I think I could (maybe?!) I think they would look sophisticated with the Jumo suit. Fab price too!
I like those along with the other gold platforms I think the second link on the thread.

I originally bought these this spring through Anthropologie, surprisingly comfy and the colour is unreal:-

The shoes I posted I think are more than that (£225) but they do gold ones I think which I've linked to. You could probably get something cheaper in UK though:-
