I haven't been to NYC for ages but am going next week. Any recommendations for shops/items we can't get here?

nothing to add, but would love to hear any recommendations as going over Christmas time

I love Everlane for high quality basics. I love their t shirts and jeans particularly, they have a 'curve' range which is amazing if, like me, your waist is small compared to your bum/hips/thighs and get the inevitable gaping at the back. Heard good things about their shoes but I have very fussy feet so haven't tried them.

Reformation is lovely, it is in the UK but depending on where you are not very accessible, and perhaps a better price to buy there given current exchange rates.

Thanks @SummaLuvin. I shall check them out.

Even with the crappy exchange rate I still love shopping in NYC. I like Banana Republic and J Crew for basics. I think all the UK stores are closed now. Also Club Monaco.

For department stores I like the small Bloomingdales for clothes and Saks for accessories, shoes and the beauty hall. There is also a Sephora on every corner.

For good value jeans I used to like Lucky Brand.

Love having a general mooch round Soho.

Nordstrom Rack close to Union Square has some good bargains.

Brooklyn Flea is also worth a look if you like vintage. And DUMBO is a great location.

For homeware Jonathan Adler but you can in the UK selection better in the US.

I've never had much luck with Everlane apart from shoes and bags. Tshirts, cashmere, shirts and trousers were poor quality. They were better a few years ago.

Go to Lip Lab on Prince street and have a lipstick made for you

JamieFrasersBigSwingingKilt · 12/10/2022 00:30

For beauty stuff, Sephora. I know it's coming to UK but it's still worth a visit. Also department stores (Macy's etc)
