What to go over dresses?

Dresses work really well for me in the autumn/winter - think a good length midi, usually patterned (ditsy floral, leopard print) and fitted at waist, worn with trainers/boots. Just can’t figure out what to wear on top of these for work? I guess I need something to smarten/formalise it a little, if possible?

I’m in my late 30s, but can get mistaken for being much younger (don’t get me wrong, I like that and don’t want to make myself look older…just need to move towards a formal addition as opposed to casualising outfit!). TIA.

A longline relaxed fit blazer would so that perfectly, ideally one with ruched sleeves.

Ooh, yes @GameOfLifer - that might work, thank you! Any links or images of nice ones would be very much appreciated. 😊

River Island do good blazers & M&S had some nice ones a while ago. A ruched wrist on the blazer would look good too.

If you have an M & S Outlet, they have sone blazers that would fit the bill. I liked them so much I bought 2 in shades of blue and a black one! Smart denim blazers look great, too, if you're allowed denim in your workplace.

I think a blazer, or maybe even a jumper, over your dresses is the way to go.
