No, definitely not.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 05/10/2022 18:01

Nice dress, but absolutely not.

TraceyGerbil · 05/10/2022 18:02

No.

RandomCatGenerator · 05/10/2022 18:02

Definitely not! That’s basically a short wedding dress!

Gazelda · 05/10/2022 18:04

No I wouldn't. It wouldn't be worth the worry that someone might (irrationally) take offence or make a drama of it.

There are many thousands of other dresses you could choose from that wouldn't risk igniting something that might upset the couple on their wedding day.

piglet81 · 05/10/2022 18:05

Absolutely not!

Vapeyvapevape · 05/10/2022 18:06

No

Mosaic123 · 05/10/2022 18:06

Sorry no.

Nice dress though

Livinginanotherworld · 05/10/2022 18:07

No definitely not.

Maireas · 05/10/2022 18:07

No way

BeetFeet · 05/10/2022 18:08

No. I know traditions move on but wearing white as a guest at any wedding is always no.

If you have to ask you know the answer.

NunAyaBizniz · 05/10/2022 18:09

Not a chance. Totally inappropriate.

Teadrinkingmumofone · 05/10/2022 18:09

Definitely not

Fizzorgin · 05/10/2022 18:09

That's the kind of dress I'm looking at as the bride tbh

JaneJeffer · 05/10/2022 18:10

No way!

eurochick · 05/10/2022 18:11

I'm pretty relaxed about white to weddings but yikes.

Belladonnamama · 05/10/2022 18:14

Thank you everyone. I agree that the dress is not acceptable. My friend has ordered it for our friend's wedding. I told her its not appropriate but she seems to think that because it's not a big white Catholic wedding ( we are Irish) that she can wear it.

Nope

Speakingofdinosaurs · 05/10/2022 18:20

Definitely not!
if it’s not a big formal wedding then maybe the bride has chosen to wear something less formal - something like this dress! 😲

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 05/10/2022 18:22

Does your friend have some ongoing drama with the friend who's getting married?

That dress is a bit of a statement for a wedding guest. Kind of thing Joan Collins' character would do on ye olde Dynasty.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 05/10/2022 18:23

Absolutely not. Your friend will look an idiot and people will judge / gossip.

jannier · 05/10/2022 18:24

If your an ex who wants to shout out it should have been me.

Yes, then in the ‘any lawful impediment/ speak now or forever hold your peace’ bit, the wearer of the dress says something like, “you promised that you’d make an honest woman of me, and don’t forget that I own 20% of Denver Carrington!”.

Talk your friend out of it, OP!

No,no drama. She just thinks because it's more casual than the weddings we have attended in the past that it's not a big deal.

No

It’s not just white, it looks like the kind of dress someone older or having a small wedding might wear as a bridal gown.
