Fat and having a spray tan

I'm booked in for a tan on Saturday before a holiday. I've had one before but not when I've been such a fatty. I'm a short 14/16 with a big belly and boobs. Reassure me that the tan sprayer isn't going to look and judge. Will I have to lift bits up while they spray me?

I'm sure they will have spray tanned way fatter people than you,! .you're only a 14-16, don't worry, I'm sure they won't bat an eyelid

If you have to lift anything up they'll politely ask e.g. 'do you want to lift up here so that I can spray you'.
They see all kinds of people everyday, please don't worry.

Thanks for the reassurance. Menopause has been an absolute bastard to my body. We're going on a once in a lifetime trip and I really want to feel good about myself, hence the spray tan on my otherwise pasty fat bod!

They honestly won't care and will probably direct you in a really matter of factly way to turn/lift etc. You have nothing they haven't seen 100 times before.

As an example, I spent 10 years doing pedicures and every single client used to apologise and think they had the worst feet ever. It drove me mad because they were all perfectly normal lovely ladies with perfectly normal bodies.

Hi, I'm a spray tanner and I promise you, they will not judge you or think anything bad of your body! They may ask you to lift your boobs up (I myself have to do this when I get one done, as the majority of ladies I tan do!) Also when they're doing the backs of your legs will ask you to lean forward to make sure under your bum is tanned - but I ask everyone to do this! Enjoy your tan!!! :-)

Sorry to hijack but how long before an event would you recommend having a spray tan? So say you were getting married on a Thursday what day would be best to book in for?

I was a therapist for 15 years, worked with and managed all ages in spas, clinics and salons. Honestly we don't care, I've never heard anyone be unkind about a client and I've worked with lots of therapists. We all train on each other too so from the get go we see all ages/sizes/shapes. The only body that ever got commented on was when we'd get an absolutely stunning person in who looks like they stepped off a magazine cover and it was always "how I wish I looked like her!" and that's because wobbly bits, cellulite, stretch marks, scars etc were all common and every day, we all had them and we all worked with women who had their own hang ups and we all did treatments on each other, spray tans, intimate waxes etc included. Spray tan training included 7 of us stood in the room together half naked learning which poses we needed clients to do and then practicing on each other in front of everyone, it was quite an experience 😂
