Just looking at Marks and Spencer and Next for clothes and they both have every other brand of clothes on their website.
Seasalt, Fatface, Jules, Hobbs, Reiss, White Stuff etc, etc.
Everything is now the same?

Department stores have always done that, haven't they?

The trend increased with those brands during covid when they shut a lot of stores and needed to find other outlets.

Maybe it's where you're looking. I shop at places that don't stock those brands.

It’s only in their websites, M&S and Next don’t stock those other brands in store. Essentially they are offering the department store option on their website only so those brands don’t have to spend as much on their own online shop, or get rid of their own online store completely, eg. Tesco’s clothes are now only available in store or on Next website, not on Tesco website.
