It was good to see they've put men's stuff in the mix now. I'm so curious how they sell menswear given there's so little by way of sales, but it must work well enough for them.

I like the men's diamond knit Donegal jumper.. would wear that myself...

with the menswear I guess they will have to rebuild their reputation so it won't be an instant hit. I don't think they've had a sale yet have they?

Yes that one @faustina . I thought everything was very oversized. I thought she was going to say she was 5’ but I think she said 5’6”.

Countmeout - I like the Donegal jumper on her too, but I saw an assistant in Toast wearing it and it was really high necked and didn't look so good - maybe the video person wore it oversized for that reason?

It's that time again: wake up, check email, check this thread, log in to Toast anyway just in case, whilst there also search "sale" anyway just in case. Anyone else? I'll also do this a few times a day, and yet somehow it is this thread that first alerts me. Anyway, nothing yet, boo.

@dudsville yes I have been doing this too, hoping the sale might start!

I don't have Toast's brown jeans belt, I nearly bought it but I found an identical leather one which I bought from M and S last year. I just had a look but they've stopped stocking it.

I googled the names of the three winners because the names are so unique, all have web and/or social media presence - one very strongly in the arts. That's my theory for winning entries in the draw.

Well that's in keeping with new Toast. How shitty of them.

Thanks for checking @Noeggsontoast, i also tried one from JL before but the brown and the width weren't right and I'm pretty confident Toast's will be.

That's curious re the winners. Perhaps it isn't a lucky dip then but more of a way for them to broaden their company.

@Stravaig it's my week 1 theory, I'll have to see if it holds true for week 2 and beyond.

@dudsville it's a classic marketing approach - I've known other companies adopt this strategy. You're right about that Toast belt being particular in colour and width.

I’ve got that belt @dudsville I bought it a few weeks ago as my daughter is getting it for me for Christmas.
I got the black one about a year ago and it is a great width and good quality.

Thanks @AmethystMoonShine , that's good to hear! I just checked and the town I'm going to for a training on Monday has a Toast so I may pop in and try them on for size.

Delurking to say I have both the black snd brown belts @dudsville and they're really useful and a good investment.
I think there's nothing egalitarian about Toast and its marketing has a poorly concealed cynicism to it. All those references to the Bloomsbury group shoe- horned into the styling videos. Or as they were referred to, the Bloomsbury 'set'🙄
That said, I do like lots of their clothes and keep buying...!

I thought they kept mentioning the Bloomsbury Set because they'd taken inspiration from Charleston for this collection? But the idea that the competition wasn't really a competition - isn't that illegal in some way?

Anyway @dudsville - I have the brown belt and I can't honestly say I've used it much since I bought it - the few times I've tried it's been either too thick or too thin. It is good quality obviously, and from previous Toast belt experience they age beautifully
