My teen has asked for silver Tiffany heart stud earrings for Christmas. I just can justify the price
does anyone know if I can get some that are fake or similar please ?

She probably wants the brand on the earrings so similar probably won't be acceptable to her. Dread when my daughter starts asking for expensive gifts like this.

AllThatHoopla · 01/10/2022 16:34

£330 for earrings! I'd definitely lose one within a week.

I think you have to ask her what she likes about them because if she doesn't want similar ones there is no point in getting them.

Swarovski?....

I agree with this, she's clearly at an are where brand names are important

I wouldn't have wanted similar items. Can you compromise and ask her other brands she likes? If she's old enough to want Tiffany she's old enough to know you can't afford £300 earrings

Swarovski?....

Not comparable and also not Pandora
I'd go for Thomas Sabo maybe

AdoraBell · 01/10/2022 16:42

Tell her you can’t afford that amount rather than buying a copy/dupe. Ask her to look for an alternative.

KylieCharlene · 01/10/2022 16:44

If I wanted Tiffany earrings I'd be very disappointed with a copy.

Oldhag5 · 01/10/2022 16:45

Look on eBay, lots of Tiffany jewellery for cheaper

LemonMuffins · 01/10/2022 16:45

Don't get knock offs.

Tell her to find something else if you can't afford the Tiffany ones. I wouldn't have wanted an alternative at that age, I'd rather have gone without.

ShandaLear · 01/10/2022 17:34

You can get second hand heart ones on Vinted for about £150. If you wanted to do that be honest with her and tell her you couldn’t afford new but if she was happy with second hand ones that could work. I wouldn’t get fakes or similar.

Blossomandbee · 01/10/2022 19:04

I would be very wary of fakes buying secondhand especially on sites like Vinted.
I'm sure there's some sites that do authenticated secondhand Tiffany though.
If you can't afford them/justify the cost (and I don't blame you) then as others have said I would be honest and tell her to choose an alternative.

Carat used to be good

DSGR · 01/10/2022 19:48

I agree that it’s the brand she wants. Tell her it too expensive and to choose some other ones that are just as lovely but £100

sopeas · 21/10/2022 17:28

It’ll be the brand she’s after so she’s likely to be disappointed if you buy fakes. Just be honest with her/ ask her for other suggestions that are more affordable at the moment (ie Pandora/Thomas sabo - still lovely but much more affordable at this time!) I bought the heart ones a couple of years back (from Tiffany) they were £150 then and the exact same ones are now £240 so they really have inflated their prices over the last couple of years!

Jessiesthedog · 21/10/2022 22:33

If it helps at all I bought my daughter some for her 16th birthday and I think I paid £160 for them (4 years ago) anyway the posts snapped so they really are not good earrings.

LittlePumpkinPie21 · 21/10/2022 22:35

Look on Vinted
