Thanks everyone! I love this thread and do follow, even when life gets in the way of posting. It's lovely to be back! 😊
@Sooverthemill ah thank you, yes, I don't blame you being put off at the prospect. It's frustrating as we were told our buyers are extremely motivated and that it would be an easy process, but I've just seen no sign of that whatsoever. Us and our vendors are the only ones who seem to regularly communicate with anyone (agents, solicitors, each other) in the process, everyone else just seems to twiddle their thumbs and wait, then seem confused when things don't work out. Particularly annoying when they were the ones with the wildly optimistic timeline in the first place. Anyway, I think my displeasure has been communicated by our agent as people seem to be escalating issues now so hopefully we may finally see some movement soon. I absolutely love that Me + Em skirt, it's gorgeous, and you are so talented with your creations, that top is lovely!
Love your blazer @WestrayWife.
@Cardigansalltheway that is an amazing outfit, you look great!
Great to see you too, @Shannith, looking forward to seeing more of your amazing charity bargains (I'm so jealous, inspired by you I've done a lot more charity shop browsing recently, but the ones around us aren't anywhere near as impressive in their offerings as yours!)
@QuietNeighbour join in anyway if you'd like to, it's not all about what brands we're wearing, it's just great to see how people pair different items and the outfits they create - I get loads of inspiration from this thread. 😊
@EnoBaby oh, now I desperately want a pair of those Sam Edelman loafers, they are gorgeous!
Daith wise, I've had mine for about 3 months now so I'm pretty early in the process. I won't lie, it can be a bit tricky, but I'm going to persist with it - none of my piercings bar my tongue were "easy" to heal (I think I actually have a low grade intolerance to a lot of metals, hence going for gold jewellery for this one as I know I'm ok with it) so I'm quite well used to it. Pain wise, it was one of my more painful piercings to have done (I've had lots over the years) but totally bearable and I wouldn't hesitate to have it done again. I didn't hear anything unpleasant when they were doing it like other people describe, either. It didn't hurt afterwards (apart from a slightly bruised feeling in my ear when I smiled, but that went quickly), and because it's tucked away I don't catch it on things (I used to have a high helix and that was an absolute bastard for getting caught, which really hurt) and I was able to sleep lying on that side within a couple of weeks (although I'm not sure that's recommended). It didn't really swell and I didn't have any downtime with it, but I haven't really with any of my piercings. Can't wear earphones in or over that ear for a while after it's done, as that hurts and irritates it, but I'm back to ear buds now and that's fine so long as the jewellery is in the right place so as not to get in the way.
It is a bit temperamental, though. It'll be lovely and calm and feel fine for weeks and then randomly get inflamed and sore and weepy again for a bit and then go back to being fine, so I can see how it might be frustrating for people and they might want to give up. I've got a bit of a piercing bump at the moment, which I think is really common with them, so that's a bit annoying, but it seems to be reducing with some salt water soaks. Piercer advised to leave it alone bar washing it in the shower, so I have mostly done that, but I do clean it with a mild saline solution when it's irritated, which seems to calm it down. It was my most expensive piercing, but that's mostly because of the jewellery I chose and it being gold - I knew I wouldn't be changing it once it was in so wanted something I really liked. Overall, I love it, but you do need to be willing to accept that the healing process is not a straight line, I think.
